The AstraZeneca Newark Supply Site was established in 1971 and currently employs approximately 260 people. Over the course of these years, Newark has undergone many product portfolio changes since it first began as Stuart Pharmaceuticals through today as the designated AZ North America Packaging Center of Excellence and a Flexible Formulation site for the global supply of complex products. The Material Handler will support the timely processing of customer orders, charitable requests, export requests, stock transfer requests to other AstraZeneca distribution centers, and other special, third-party requirements, as well as, the processing of some finished goods receipts. This support requires operation of a forklift and working with various inventory and plant control systems to include the SAP Warehouse Management System, the finished goods automated storage and retrieval system (MHS), and knowledge of computer-aided picking activities to support business sales targets and shipping deadlines.

What you will do:

  • Perform pick, pack, and ship activities of finished product orders for domestic and export customers in an automated warehouse environment to meet sales targets and due dates.
  • Responsible for replenishment of products into the various picking areas while maintaining quality and batch integrity.
  • Operate all forklift equipment in a safe, efficient manner to complete daily shipping activities.
  • Assist with direct material or miscellaneous shipments for domestic and export customers.
  • Complete various material receipts to include inbound finished goods receipts, requiring completing the tally checklist, breaking loads down, verifying contents, and storage.
  • Operate shipping systems to include processing cases through a meter and scale area.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy of the finished product to include inventory reconciliation, random inventory verifications, and other inventory-related audits.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must pass Fork truck Vision tests, conducted by the Medical Department to allow for safe operation of a forklift vehicle; tests are performed every three years
  • Demonstrate understanding and use of LEAN Principles to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate good math and problem-solving skills
  • Digital confidence
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred:

  • Certified to handle and ship products classified as dangerous goods
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Knowledge of various cGMP’s and FDA regulations -Inventory control background.
  • SAP Warehouse Management System
  • Pick-to-Light order picking
