Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As an Analyst, you will partner with Municipal Public Finance Syndicate and Origination team members, including Bankers, Underwriters, Traders, Sales and Trade Support. There will be interaction with AML/KYC onboarding team, Compliance, FINRA, MSRB, DTC (and other applicable internal and external entities) to coordinate the issuance and settlement of negotiated, completive, private placement, direct purchase and 3rd party TOBs.

What will you do?

  • Work jointly with Banker and Analysts to manage the execution, maintenance and settlement of municipal issuances – Negotiated, Competitive, Private Placements and TOBs where RBCCM LLC holds a lead role
  • Wire monies for the settlement of syndicate issues, and payment of any deal related vendor invoices
  • Maintain detailed and accurate recording of all deal transactions, statistics and specifics
  • Adhere to Standing Orders for payments, fund disbursement, and remain versed/aware of internal funding limits
  • Liaise externally with DTC, MSRB, attorneys and Custodial Agent Banks
  • Process and record transactions for co-managed deals (checks, wires, ACH)
  • Work closely with colleagues in Settlements, Funding, Trade Support and Municipal Finance

What you need to succeed?

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Arts or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant Municipal Syndicate Operations experience and/or 5-6 years of work experience in financial services
  • Working knowledge of securities settlements, cash funding, and specific product knowledge of municipal securities
  • Knowledge of DTC, Middle or Back Office Background
  • Attention to detail and client focus
  • Distinguished written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of various financial products
  • Excel skills required, PowerPoint / Word proficiency helpful
  • Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
  • Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, self-motivated and team focused

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid experience with ADP/BPS and DTC helpful, but not required
  • Some Bloomberg, or EMMA Dataport helpful
