Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Python, Go, system administration, troubleshooting, scripting, automation, and reporting.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting Linux/Unix operating system, internet-based applications, and web servers.
• Experience with Google App Engine or web app development and general Knowledge of access control models (e.g., role-based access control).
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills with understanding of network administration.

As a Systems Administrator at Google, you own and support the needs of one of Google's server infrastructure systems. You're highly technical and work directly with other server and service owners to ensure reliability and sustainability of the Google service infrastructure as well as compliance with internal policies. Success in this role means you are able to support servers in a mixed operating system environment and work efficiently with our internal technology providers as well as other operations groups. Insider Risk Operations (IRO) is the team operationalizing programs, projects, policies, and processes that mitigate Insider Risk at Alphabet. We handle three main areas: 1) access provisioning for our restricted and extended workforce, 2) operations related to corp identity and 3) managing Alphabet's use of Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and enhance services and/or systems utilities with minimal direction.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues for Google's corporate resources, tools, operating systems, and applications both locally and remotely.
• Work with security teams to plan and implement changes that impact Googlers and the extended workforce.
• Automate tasks to increase efficiency.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain moderately complex systems and services.
