A day in the life of an Associate

The Associate Relations Manager will serve as the key representative from AR in the Netherlands for various customer groups with a main focus on the VEG Factory. You will be responsible for implementing the cluster AR agenda with you’re your customers focusing on topics such as LM capability, Data & Insighs, Issue Resolution and Organizational Change. Responsibilities include: supporting linemanagers on performance management, managing social relations within the site, supporting the local leadership teams and business partner on implementing organizational change as well as driving AR specific regional and local projects cross the Netherlands. The ability to handle inquiries, mitigate risk and minimize adverse impact to the organization through application of policies, practices and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements is an absolute must. The role will be supporting the VEG workscouncil as “adviseur van de bestuurder”

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the AR agenda within the customer groups you are responsible for
• Implement regional and local AR initiatives in the Netherlands
• Escalation point for associate questions, issues and concerns that are escalated from the MyP&O call center or customer group.
• Partner with and coach line managers on performance management process and documentation.
• In close collaboration with the Health & Wellbeing case manager, manage absenteeism cases
• Coach line managers on difficult associate related conversations.
• Manage workplace concerns, disciplinary sanctions and investigations in an impartial and balanced way according to the associate concept and the five principles
• Make recommendations regarding policies, practices and procedures focused on improving consistency, effectiveness and capability.
• Perform associate relations investigations. Prepare recommendations based on policies, practices and processes.
• Identify associate relations trends in area of responsibility and partner with the AR Lead on appropriate actions.
• Support and drive, together with the leadership team and business partner organizational changes within the Netherlands context
• Deliver Associate Relations capability building programs to site leaders and line managers.
• Owning the relationship with the Veghel works council

What are we looking for?

• Minimum qualification: University degree or equivalent, preferably in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Legal
  Preferred qualification: Combination of education and experience preferred
• 5 or more years experience In working In a business partner or similar type role required
• Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals across all levels of the organization
• Deep knowledge in applicable employment and labor relations regulations
• Ability to rapidly mobilize and manage internal and external resources to mitigate risks to the Mars business and reputation
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information
• Strong at building networks within the organization
• Ability to work independently and own discrete areas of responsibility
