Collins Aerospace anticipates the need for multiple JTAC Instructors to support the establishment of a JTAC school in a country based in the Middle East region. This posting is subject to program award expected in Q4 2021 and applicants must be willing to relocate to work and live in the Middle East for a minimum duration of 3 years commencing in December 2021.

Job Summary

JTAC Instructor shall develop the Training Course requirements for both JTAC Certification and Qualification training in order to achieve accreditation under the Joint CAS Action Plan Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) 2004-01 Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) (Ground).

This role will report to the Chief Training Instructor and is for experienced professionals who will be required to conduct training sessions for customized components, and communicate with customers, technical organizations and departments to ensure training is understood.

Provides demonstrations, assists with the development of training aids and materials, and administers tests following training on moderately complex products or modules.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Delivering academic, simulation and live exercise instruction and continuation training to Certified and Qualified JTAC
  • Maintaining the highest instructional and teaching standards on the JTAC certification course managing and overseeing a JTAC continuation training plan, including the effective implementation of tactical training and equipment and vehicle training
  • Responsible for allocated course content and application to ensure compliance with JTAC MOA and customer requirements
  • Responsible to training manager (and any standards and evaluation (STANEVAL) he may appoint) for JTAC qualification standards in accordance with customer JTAC instruction/regulation
  • Responsible for JTAC aircraft safety and CAS execution during live CAS events
  • Assisting with training delivery on the course when required and where appropriate
  • Contributing to the evolution and development of the customer organizational structure
  • Contributing to the evolution of the training facility into a world-class organization
  • Mentoring customer JTAC graduates in both domestic and international training environments
  • Assists with the development of moderately complex training aids and materials.
  • Delivers moderately complex product demonstrations.
  • Administers tests, when required, which accompany moderately complex technical training sessions.
  • Maintains proper documentation of technical product training policies and procedures to ensure accuracy of implementation and minimize risk.

Qualifications (essential):

  • JTAC/FAC Instructor or Evaluator/Supervisor qualification from a MOA accredited nation
  • Retired Officer or Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) with minimum rank of CAPT or SGT
  • Air Weapons Range Safety qualification
  • IT Literate
  • One year experience in the JTAC role

Qualifications (preferred):

  • Laser Safety qualification
  • Harris users qualification
  • Video Downlink qualification
  • Systems Approach to Training (SAT) qualification

Work Experience (essential):

  • JTAC/FAC instructor or evaluator/supervisor experience at unit level or within a training institution.
  • Up to date knowledge of U.S. and NATO CAS Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Experience teaching on and operating with a JTAC/CAS synthetic simulation system.
  • Experience utilizing tactical data links
  • Combat experience

Work Experience (preferred):

  • Unit level JTAC management
  • CAS TTP development
  • JTAC/CAS Simulator development
  • Service in Middle-East
