Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent
• Relevant work experience in structural engineering
• Experience with building structures, foundations, and industrial structures

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's or PhD degree
• Experience in mission critical building design
• Ability to communicate technical issues effectively in written and verbal forms
• Ability to write reports, documents, create presentations as well as deliver before large audiences

About the job

As a Senior Structural Engineer in the products group, you will use your knowledge and experience to oversee structures (products) that will be used by our design teams to develop data center sites.

You will develop from concept to completion structural products including internal and external loading and load paths as well as constructibility and will work with external design teams to produce a product that can be built rapidly and within a cost model.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Google’s stakeholder groups, related consultants and the design consultant(s), construction management firm(s), and construction contractor(s) to administer the design and/or construction agreements on behalf of Google.
• Provide engineering guidance and reviews of structural engineering works associated with site layout, data center building design.
• Help develop structural engineering guidelines and direction for design standards.
• Review submitted designs and provide comments on basis of designs.
