What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Cloud Engineering & Enablement team is looking for SRE and Devops Engineer with proficiency in SRE best practices. He/She will be playing a prominent role in implementing site reliability across all devops tools and platforms. He/She will be involved in all Development activities, architecting the DevOps platform, Enabling self service and innovation, Engineering and Optimizing CICD Tools on Cloud, providing RPA and ML based solutions. Expertise in Cloud, Devops Tools, SRE, Scripting and Engineering Support with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Looking at industry trends and help in the SRE and Automation transformation in the organization.
• Applying the analytical skills in enriching observability platform setup and help in bringing operations excellence with efficient root cause analysis.
• Leveraging the emerging technologies AI/ML to transform operations and lead AIOps.
• Consulting and leading the Automation, RPA solutions for bringing operation excellence.
• Leading the objectives with strong stakeholder management in matrix organizations.
• Looking at opportunities to eliminate toil in the system, bring agility in delivery.
• Enabling reliability checks part of DevSecOps pipelines and consistently brings a shift left strategy in reliability engineering.
• Designing/architecting automation experience.
• Designing and developing the automated solution for Sanity Testing for various repeatable tests.
• Performing IT Operations and Application Stability.
• Participating in multiple meetings with IT owners, business owners and product or team members.
• Documenting technical queries planning activities, offshore coordination and building work plans.
• Running the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
• Measuring and optimizing system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.
• Providing primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed Cloud Applications & Platforms.
• Advising on how to maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
• Scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolving systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Practicing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.

What we’re looking for...

We are looking for a DevOps SRE Engineer with knowledge in Cloud, Devops Tools, SRE and excellent communication skills.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience in software engineering.
• Four or moreyears of relevant work experience in supporting DevOps tools, Cloud, SRE.
• Experience inLinux operating system.
• Experience in supporting Devops tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, JIRA, Confluence, Sonar etc.

Even better if you have:

• A degree.
• Experience in Java, Angular JS, NODE JS, React Js.
• Analyzing test results on application functionality, database impacts, errors or bugs, usability, users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.
• Experience with a configuration management tool a plus - Puppet, Ansible, Chef
• Experience in handling databases like SQL, PostGres and NoSQL.
• Experience in CI/CD and workflow automation
• Experience in AWS (Lambda, Ec2, ELB, S3, EFS, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, IAM, Route53. ELB, Device form etc.)
• Experiencewith a scripting/coding language(s) - Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, shell.
• Logging infrastructure such as fluentd, logstash, elasticsearch, kibana, or spunk
• Experience in AIOPS / ML implementation would be added advantage
• One or more years of relevant work experience in Operations/AI Ops.
• Experience in working in Matrix organizations.
• Experience in working in Agile teams.
• Industry related certifications.
• Knowledge on AI/ML technologies.
• Knowledge on different data visualization tools.
• Knowledge in customer experience testing.
• Experience in selenium.
