We look to not just to respond to crises but also to create openings for change, to imagine and build a future that is better than what came before. It is an exciting time at the ACLU of Nevada: we are envisioning our organization with values and approaches to center Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), low-income, and other marginalized communities and voices, to expand our fundraising so that it is community-centered and based, to strengthen our legal and advocacy endeavors with a focus on integrated and community-based advocacy, and to amplify public engagement and support for our work to fight threats to freedom head on.
The Donor Relations Associate, alongside the Director of Finance Administration and Executive Director, will serve as a key member of our fundraising team. The Donor Relations Associate will help us raise transformative gifts that will expand, enhance, and sustain our programmatic goals. Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Finance and Administration, the Donor Relations Associate will play a key role in managing relationships with existing donors and securing new gifts that will enable longstanding, tangible civil liberties victories. The Donor Relations Associate will be responsible for developing and managing approximately 50 donors (each with an estimated capacity to give $1,000 or more) and creating and maintaining strategies for high-level donor stewardship. This position also assists the Executive Director in coordinating meetings with donors and potential donors in collaboration with other senior staff and board members.
The Donor Relations Associate will build, strengthen, and deepen existing donor relationships, will identify prospective donors, and will encourage increased giving through the implementation of high-level cultivation and stewardship activities that are rooted in the guiding principles of Community-Centric Fundraising. The Donor Relations Associate will contribute to the adoption and implementation of Community-Centric Fundraising practices, ethical storytelling, and the overall integrated advocacy work of the organization.
