What is the opportunity?

Working as part of WMC Training & Development Department, Head Office, the Learning & Development Specialist will be a member of a 4-person team that provides new Associates with orientation, application and end-to-end process and procedures training, along with the sharing of best practices. This role will provide and create training solutions that allow new Associates to understand their roles and become more efficient, leverage the right resources, and provide service excellence to their clients. You will be accountable for managing the Admin/Associate Fundamentals Training Program including the administration of the program for effective delivery and follow up coaching.

Please note, at this time the Program is being presented virtually, with the expectation that in-person training in Calgary/Winnipeg will resume once conditions allow. This role will involve travel between the 2 locations.

What will you do?
- Be responsible for all tasks associated with the various programs run by the Learning & Development Specialists Team.
- Execute innovative training solutions including the design and delivery of a customized classroom/virtual offering, resource materials, and timely production of such.
- Manage new Associate onboarding training, follow up coaching, and make recommendations for continued employee development.
- Implement an effective and relevant Employee Onboarding training Program based on current and future role requirements including reviewing curricula, relevancy and updating where required.
- Liaise with senior managers as a subject matter expert on professional development best practices by leveraging tools, systems, programs (includes internal RBC systems). Maintain close relationships with partners in the Compliance, Internal Controls, and Operations Departments to leverage their knowledge and expertise.
- Proactively partner with respective Branch Directors, Branch Operations Managers, Regional Branch Administrators, and Regional Directors, to understand the learning needs of their teams, track data, and recommend areas where potential development may be needed.
- Manage the logistical requirements for the training sessions ensuring seamless delivery including: Send/manage meeting invitations for participants and presenters, book meeting rooms, organize catering if applicable, assign and collect participant coursework , and solicit feedback for implementation.
- Create and maintain training materials as required.

What do you need to succeed?
Must have
- 3+ years in a support role on a Wealth Management/DS IA Team.
- Experience/knowledge with DS processes.
- Excellent written/verbal/electronic communication skills.
- Good knowledge of wealth management industry and industry products, operational requirements, and client / IA needs, including a comprehensive understanding of financial and investment management concepts.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others and be perceived as a professional business partner and subject matter expert.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail is mandatory, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Flexible in approaching all duties and assignments and shares best practices wherever possible

- Previous training/coaching experience
