A Day in the Life:
•Lead all internal and external efforts to create a compelling vision and portfolio strategy that garners the investment required to expand into new market segments
•Perform strategic, market and financial analysis for new opportunities, including market expansion, acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, minority investments and technology licenses, and monitoring of markets, industries, and organizations of potential strategic interest
•Perform detailed financial analysis and develop valuation models for proposed transactions; develop and analyze transaction structures in cooperation with legal, tax and finance personnel
•Manage analysis and due diligence processes as needed including coordination of Medtronic functional and business unit personnel
•Partner cross-functionally to develop comprehensive strategies that span multiple technology platforms to create integrated approaches with broad impact
•Drive alignment internally and across the regions, arguing for and ensuring availability of resources required to develop and execute their respective strategies
•Manage relationships with KOLs/advisory board members to gain feedback, translate unmet customer and market needs into impactful strategies and new market opportunities
•Works closely with the Upstream Marketing team to guide product concept, scope, commercial timing, and associated financial trade-offs to optimize business value
•Identifies market research needs, elicits stakeholder inputs by creating and conducting multiple customer feedback methodologies targeted but not limited to: patients, Medtronic field staff, clinicians, and hospital administrators
•Travels domestically and internationally in support of customer engagements and internal Medtronic activities up to 20% of time.
Must Have:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Marketing, Business Development, Strategy or Technical role in healthcare consulting, med-device, pharmaceutical or biotech industries
Nice to Have:
•MBA or other Advanced Degree
•A demonstrated success in identifying and developing new market and business opportunities assessments, conducting diligence and executing Business Development deals
•Strong multi-disciplinary skills in business and financial analytics, modeling, strategic planning, marketing, marketing research, public speaking, influencing management and negotiation is strongly preferred
•Experience in Medical Device sales or customer-facing marketing a plus
