What you’ll do

We currently have two opportunities to join our Microbiology team at AstraZeneca on a 6 month contract basis:

  • Monday to Friday – Afternoon shift 2:00pm to 10:30pm
  • Tuesday to Saturday – Standard work hours

The two vacancies would be based on an external payroll basis.

Reporting to the Microbiology Team Lead, you will be responsible for a wide range of microbiological tests, sterility testing and you will be given the opportunity to improve our processes. In addition, you will follow up on deviations and out of specification results and you will contribute in training exercises. Responsibilities include:

  • Standard routine tests on products, materials, and generating laboratory results, using a range of analytical and microbial techniques
  • Ensuring appropriate quality systems are followed to meet GLP, GMP, and HSE standards
  • Understanding the quality control processes and performing appropriate tasks in the laboratory to meet customer demands

Essential for the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science or related

Desirable for the role

  • Cleanroom and/or sterility testing experience
  • 1 year of experience within a laboratory conducting routine tests
  • Pharmaceutical experience
