The A Side: A Day in The Life
To support in the creation, delivery and management of outstanding and innovative marketing campaigns and strategies for UK and international releases. The Polydor roster includes artists such as: Lana Del Rey, HAIM, Years & Years, Ellie Goulding, Elbow, Michael Kiwanuka, The Rolling Stones, Mabel, Mura Masa + more.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Operational - Running UK marketing campaigns for UK and U.S development acts and one off singles in combination with the Head of Marketing
- Creating and agreeing timelines for radio service, impact, marketing, sales and promotional activity
- Planning and executing paid media campaigns
- Scheduling and initiating physical and digital products with production for own projects
- Developing creative briefs and commissioning content, artwork and videos
- Manage and track budgets to run these campaigns
- Communicate all activity to the project team
- Initiating new releases at request of Product Managers & Head of Marketing
- Canvass promo quantities from TV, Radio, Press and Club Promotions.
- Coordination of street teams on various projects
- Coordination of in-stores and other artist sessions
- Assist in, if required, TV and Radio ads
- Source venues for Artist and label showcases, after shows, events and parties
- Plan and coordinate label and artist live marketing experiences. Pop up shows, guerrilla events, gallery exhibitions, experiential happenings. Liaise with all relevant internal and external teams to execute these events
Be Administrative
- Process sales presenters on time
- Booking ads via Mediacom
- Making sure ad copy is delivered to advertisers, in conjunction with designers
- Checking artist’s social media properties and compiling reports on audience growth
- General administration (invoicing, filing, ordering stationery/CD stock)
- Arranging travel
- Co-ordinating showcases with the Product Managers & Head of Marketing
- Booking bikes / cabs / couriers
- Ticket ordering for gigs on behalf of marketing team
- Answering calls for marketing team if not at desk
- Maintain marketing campaigns in GLUE/MERLIN
- Budgeting in Uniport; including planning spend, approving quotes, raising POs etc
- Keeping diligent track of watermarked cd’s, both production of and tracking
- Maintain marketing updates and timelines for meetings
- Coordination of producing enhanced cd’s for commercial products
- Ensure all new videos are logged at MUVER/ BAM and serviced to the project team and any other third parties
- Sourcing and ordering any merchandise or special items
- Ordering any POS needed e.g., flyers, stickers, posters
Be Collaborative
- Working with designers and art directors to create artist appropriate assets for the effectivity and branding of the campaign
- Working with artists and artist managers to agree creative and strategy as above
- Liaising with Marketing, designer, and artist management to deliver, copy check and facilitate approval
- Liaising with external suppliers
- Oversee work experience / interns
- Any other reasonable duties as required by marketing team
Person Specification
- Passionate about music
- Desire to pursue a career within marketing, previous experience highly advantageous
- Proven experience of working effectively and efficiently under pressure in a calm and organised manner
- Knowledge of the streaming space, use of either Spotify, Apple Music or both
- Professional, proactive and flexible approach to work – ability to prioritise, multi-task & pre-empt problems before they occur
- Excellent track record of working to strict deadlines & maintaining a high standard of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally
- Team player able to work on own initiative
- Ability to deal with situations discreetly & confidentially
- Able to demonstrate a tactful and diplomatic approach
- Experience in using in house computer systems and packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
