About the Position

Sensu is looking for a new member of our front end UI developer team to help shape the future of monitoring. The Engineering team is primarily responsible for developing the Sensu commercial offering. You will be working closely with our Product team to identify areas where the commercial product can provide additional value to our customers. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the Sensu open source framework as part of your day-to-day work.

As a Senior Software Engineer for Sensu’s/Sumo front end (UI), you will be responsible for the following:

• Build compelling, cutting edge UI features that help Sensu provide value to users and that help Sensu stand apart from its competitors
• Build visualizations and other user interface elements to simplify complex operations for the end users
• Improve Sensu UI performance and responsiveness at scale (i.e. making it easier to manage distributed systems that number into the tens or hundreds of thousands of devices)
• Ensure consistent, reusable design patterns during the code design and architecture planning process

About You

Our ideal candidate will meet most of the following qualifications to be incredibly successful in this position.

• 5+ years of developing enterprise applications with GraphQL and the ReactJS framework
• 7+ years of experience writing, testing, and shipping enterprise web applications written in Javascript or Typescript
• You focus on user experience when designing and building new interfaces
• Some past interest or experience in monitoring and observability, and experienced building tools for other engineers would be a plus.
• You know when NOT to introduce or develop a new Javascript framework
• You have a thoughtful, transparent, and humane approach to work
• You are an excellent listener and love helping people (whether you’re an introvert or extrovert!).
