Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Insights Leader to join the band! We need a Product Insights Manager to help drive an insights led culture within product development and business development. As an insights team, our mission is to enable evidence-based decision making in our business unit. We achieve this by gaining a deep understanding of our users and our market and establishing trustworthy and impactful metrics to track product improvement, user experience changes and marketing effects. Soundtrap is a collaborative, cloud-based recording studio for music makers and storytellers. As of November 2017, we are a part of the Spotify family. Our mission is to enable any music and podcast creators, no matter where in the world you are or what device you are using. We’re a unit within Spotify, small enough to adapt quickly and make our own decisions, but with all the resources that we need from the larger company.
What you'll do
- Manage a team of Data Scientists and User Researchers setting focus, strategy and priorities for the team's work to maximise influence and impact.
- Establish a data driven culture where insights are used to solve business problems.
- Lead our day-to-day insights practice: managing prioritisation, working rhythms and communication across the team.
- Drive high quality outcomes: ensure insights are robust and impactful, with clear success measurement, identifying areas for improvement and driving optimisations.
- Be autonomous and accountable - taking full ownership over your domain.
- Be an evangelist for Insights work - within the team and beyond.
- Bring our users to the forefront, ensuring data and insights are meaningful, so their needs guide us to the best solutions.
- Facilitate and actively support continuous development of our Data Scientists and User Researchers in the team.
- Continuously analyse our data and find opportunities across our funnel.
Who you are
- Demonstrated ability as a people manager for a product and/or business insights team.
- You have experience in user research, data analytics, or data science.
- You have the technical competence, statistical competence and leadership skills to mentor team members in appropriate methodologies and technical solutions.
- You have experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and you are able to evaluate accuracy and efficiency of scientific models.
- You are a great storyteller and communicator, and can build relationships with a diverse set of colleagues.
- You are capable of tackling ambiguous problem spaces and challenges.
- You have a passion for music making and creativity.
- You have a passion for monetisation and growing a business.
