JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager Opening Projects is responsible for IT related aspects of all hotel opening projects, hotel conversions to Marriott brands, and training/installation services as per the direction of the EMEA Opening Team Project Directors.

Business Context
- Create IT estimates for chain franchise openings
- checking brand standard adherence of all relevant franchise brand standard
- Organize and/or attend (opera) kickoff meetings
- vendor contract verification
- Certificate requests
- Send Marriott IT opening Cost letter details to chain IT
- UAT organization for GPNS and potentially TV GRE standards adherence
- Educate chain on new standards
- Responsible for handover to IT Franchise Support
- Consult PD for escalations if needed
- Checking brand standard adherence either through design review or on site visits.
- Organize and/or attend (opera) kickoff meetings
- Vendor contract verification and implementation quality control
- Certificate requests for the installation of the various system applications
- GPNS UAT organization
- Assist the Handover to IT Franchise Support Organisation
- Consult PD for escalations if needed
- Organize MARSHA / GXP Training where requested
- Communicates Marriott’s technology standards to construction companies, reviews design for telecommunications, data cabling, network infrastructure, TV reception/distribution and external service provision or content.
- Prepares training & installation plans, scheduling internal and vendor resources.
- Ensures all resources, internal and external are provided with a project environment conducive to their wellbeing and safety.
- Ensures the information technology needs of Marriott International are met in a manner that is consistent with MI systems and technology standards
- Performs quality assurance and acceptance testing of installed systems.
- Coordinates integration or interfacing where required to third party installed solutions (building management, door locks, energy management etc.)
- For Franchisee locations, where oversight is limited, works with the Franchisee or their technology partners to ensure all Marriott technical requirements are met.
- Works in a close partnership with other iT functions to provide a seamless response to the information technology needs of opening hotels.

- Maintains understanding of technology direction and how that direction can be leveraged for present-day and future strategies. Applies those aspects of a forward-moving technology view that support the business strategy and operation.
- Researches any local statutory requirements for data privacy/protection and fiscal regulations to ensure compliancy
- Ensures compliance with all Marriott International Policies (MIP) and Information Security Standards.
- Assist in documenting all technology installed and completes handover to iT field operations post opening of the hotel.
- Participates in regular Global Technology Opening collaborations in order to facilitate best practise sharing to the mutual benefit of the EMEA continent
- Actively contributes to the on-going education and training of all information technology associates
- Assist in providing EMEA’s feedback on annual review of design guides
- Responsible for the maintenance and publications of EMEA’s continent design guide supplements
- The role may require extensive travel throughout EMEA and occasional worldwide travel

Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5 plus years demonstrated track record in hotel IT support, installation of hotel systems and managing projects of small to medium size .
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology-enabled solutions to business problems.
- Solid relationship building skills (client, vendor, peers)
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience and demonstrated leadership in information systems management and enabling technologies

Education or Certification
- Hotelmanagement or IT education preferred
