Edinburgh Returners Programme

BlackRock is looking for candidates with prior experience in Investment Management or broader Financial Services, who have had a career break outside of Industry of at least 18 months (with no upper limit). You must have the right to work in the UK to apply for the programme.
The programme is designed to encourage and support a return to full-time work for experienced candidates; BlackRock are seeking experienced individuals who are client orientated and passionate about performance, who display collaborative and innovative mindsets, and bring an eclectic set of proficiencies to the workplace; prioritisation, analytical and organisational skills amongst others. To fully support candidates in their transition back to full time work, we will provide an internal mentor and a buddy for your day to day questions. We offer a variety of internal networking groups, including a Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) and Families at BlackRock (FAB) to help you integrate into the business and culture. You will also benefit from the Returners Coaching Programme provided by Women Returners as well as a peer support group of other returners.
About the team:
BlackRock EMEA Finance consists of Finance professionals in disciplines such as Tax, Business Finance, Treasury, Accounting Operations and Corporate Accounting. Within the Controllers’ Group, the Financial Reporting Group plays a key role in reporting the financial results for all legal entities within the EMEA region. These results are presented monthly in accordance with US GAAP and quarterly under IFRS. In addition, management accounts, board reports, statutory accounts and regulatory returns are prepared and presented quarterly.
About the role:
The Financial Reporting Accountant will act as entity controller for several companies and will also have responsibility for the integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet. This will involve key monthly analytics to aid internal US GAAP management reporting as well as production of quarterly board reports and regulatory returns as well as annual statutory accounts under IFRS / FRS 101. Experience of regulatory reporting or financial services is preferred but not essential. The Financial Reporting Accountant will also develop strong relationships with other parts of Finance and external auditors and build relationships with cross functional teams to enhance working relationships and improve analytical review on legal entities.
