Scientific Business Analyst (Research and Pre-clinical Development)

Job Description

We are looking for a Scientific Business Analyst (SBA) to support the informatics and data management needs of Analytical Chemistry,
Protein Biochemistry, Formulation Development, BioAnalytical Sciences, Preclinical Drug Safety, and Pharmacometrics areas.

A typical day may include:

• Collaborate with and influence others to build the next generation of applications.
• Support R&pD-IT Business Relationship Managers and scientific leadership to Identify gaps in existing processes, determine disposition (major project, small project, enhancement) and provide recommendations for future process & technology improvements.
• Build and maintain relationships with assigned business functional team.
• Develop and continually strengthen deep knowledge of business and business processes for assigned areas.
• Define business case, value stream, business requirements, identify trends and gaps with existing processes, and recommend projects as input into the annual planning process.
• Act as a workstream lead to ensure plans for data management, maintenance and reporting meet business requirements now and for the future.
• Elicit requirements for projects and enhancements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, user stories, process models, activity diagrams and workflow analysis, and system validation package.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver artifacts as required by the project methodology.
• Complete source to target, business rules, reporting, use process mapping and design.
• Provide support to IT leaders in developing business benefits analysis and estimates for area of responsibility (business requirements, functional design, business processes, UAT).
• Translates requirements and processes into functional and technical data designs.

To be considered for the Scientific Business Analyst role, you must have a Bachelor's degree as well as 5 + years of relevant business analysis experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
