About this role

Job Purpose/Background:

The Associate, SEA Executive Office is a role based in Singapore. Reporting to the Business Manager for Southeast Asia (SEA), the successful candidate will work on formulating and executing strategy for SEA, supporting the operational effectiveness and connectivity across the platform, and coordinating multi-functional initiatives for the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulate and execute business strategy for SEA

  • Work with the SEA Executive Office team, senior management and business unit leaders to determine strategic objectives
  • Analyze industry and market trends, as well as assess business performance, internal and external factors, to support senior management in identifying expansion opportunities
  • Work on formulating strategies to meet strategic goals including, but not limited to, organic growth drivers, business prioritization and strategic investments
  • Support the communication of strategic priorities and execution plans effectively across the firm
  • Support and manage large-scale, cross-functional projects in support of addressing SEA regional and country-specific growth strategies

Partner across the Corporate-Operating platforms on day-to-day business management

  • Support the SEA Executive Office team in partnering with the various Corporate functions on day-to-day business management, including Finance, Risk & Quantitative Analysis group, and Compliance
  • Work with the Technology & Enterprise Services team on facilities management-related and office-related operational projects
  • Work with HR on country talent initiatives
  • Support the SEA Executive Office team in executing operational projects

Drive local, regional and firm-wide connectivity with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Support local governance committees with requisite agenda and materials
  • Coordinate Town Halls and other internal forums, including senior leadership visits
  • Partner with Corporate Communications on internal and external engagements for senior management
  • Facilitate external forums where appropriate

Support the monitoring and addressing of operational controls

  • Support regulatory and control requests (SOX/SOR, etc.)
  • Support Internal Audits effectively
  • Support the monitoring and remediation of risk management items, as well as Business Continuity Management

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with strong record of academic achievement
  • 4 - 6 years relevant work experience; financial services, consulting and/or strategy background preferred with strong technology mindset
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills, with experience supporting cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, both conceptual and analytical; strong communication skills and extremely high attention to detail
  • Self-reliant, self-starter, results-oriented and proactive; able to show initiative, be innovative and operate credibly with senior stakeholders across multiple markets
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple complex projects and activities, while working under pressure and with tight deadlines; strongly values being a team player
  • Knowledge of and/or exposure to the SEA asset management ecosystem preferred: retail distribution, institutional distribution, ETFs, wealth management, marketing, alternatives, technology, portfolio management and capital markets, and trading
  • As the role has exposure to SEA countries, relevant language skills would be an advantage but not required.
