  • Partner with managers, leaders and employees to execute people and culture strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness.
  • Provide day-to-day people and culture support for employees and managers across Brazil.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable laws, including, but not limited to, leave and accommodation laws.
  • Provide input/advice on practical solutions to employees and managers on employee-relations concerns, conduct, performance issues and investigations to ensure we are living up to Viasat values and creating a culture that fosters innovation and productivity.
  • Partner with the L&D teams to ensure employee development plans are adequately supported.
  • Partner with US-based P&C functional team members as required for items such as benefits (including those established by the applicable collective bargaining agreements), L&D programs, TA, Diversity & Inclusion, compensation and Viasat policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with global benefits and compensation teams to ensure competitive offerings and administrate local requirements as needed (e.g. registration with pension office).
  • Collaborate with Payroll as needed.
  • Assist with ad hoc people and culture projects, representing the Brazilian employees, leaders, and culture.
  • Tailor global Viasat policies for local Brazilian law, market and culture.
  • Partner with Brazilian Leadership team on CBA/Union matters.
  • Partner and support our various businesses, leaders, and employees across Brazil to ensure successful collaboration and integration amongst teams.
  • Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of people and the culture within the company.
  • Successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement and retention of critical talent.
  • Analyze annual employee engagement survey and other forms of employee feedback data to identify and prioritize opportunities.
  • Build and execute P&C team strategy to support business growth across Brazil.
  • Advise on site specific matters, such as inclement weather, return to office, etc.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in HR Operations, Talent Acquisition and/or Generalist roles
  • Strong experience/knowledge of Brazilian labor and employment laws
  • Business acumen with experience supporting cross-functional and virtual teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Portuguese.
  • Demonstrates personal initiative in problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Potential travel up to 25% to include supporting HR needs in remote offices.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in a mid-large size high tech company
  • Experience working for a US headquartered company
