Job Description

The Function & Role

In this role you will support the execution of a go to market strategy and business development around the use of connected car data. You will work on new and novel applications of connected car data to internal and external problems. You need to possess a drive to take a big picture vision and make it a reality

A top priority will be protecting GM customers and their privacy. You will be expected to speak up about any unidentified issues that impact privacy.

There will be projects to support internal GM value creation along with maintaining and developing external client relationships. You will work on cross-functional teams (IT, Analytics, Product Management, Business Development, etc.) to evaluate, vet, and prioritize innovation opportunities. In addition, the candidate needs to enjoy spending time in the market to understand business customer problems and find innovative solutions.

Objectives:

  • Create internal GM value and external revenue from connected car data
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships within and outside GM
  • engage with potential partners needed to participate in the realization of innovation ideas
  • Identify current and future business customer needs for GM data products in specific verticals
  • Maintain a framework, integrating business customer needs into an innovation pipeline
  • Analyze industry news and trends to determine their impact

Required Skills

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot commercial opportunities
  • Ability to operate on projects with a measure of ambiguity
  • Communication and relationship building across all levels within GM and across functional boundaries
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills proven with both inside and outside constituencies
  • interface with key stakeholders to support execution of critical deliverables
  • Client relationship management
    • Regular follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction with business relationships
    • Develop and maintain personalized business relationships in order to promote GM’s products
    • Identify and analyze client needs and identify which GM products are solutions for those needs.

Required Experience

Required: A total of 4+ years of professional experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience working at a marketing technology company
  • Prior experience working in management consulting
  • Prior experience working in a startup environment

Demonstrated experience in following:

  • Creating Business cases or strategic plans
  • Creating business proposals or marketing pitches
  • Making executive level presentations
  • Operating independently on assigned projects

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing

MBA preferred
