Your Opportunity


As the Operations Transformation Office's (OTO) Senior Manager of Program Management, you support the strategy development and day-to-day completion of the Ops Transformation Management Office. You will support OTO leadership by providing analysis, frameworks, tools and strategies to ensure the successful execution of the Ops Transformation program. In this role, you are the “glue” that connects the activities in Ops Transformation. You are aware of key in-flight activities and will ensure coordination across the department and with partners. As a result, you will be a trusted advisor to the leadership team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building tools and processes that will allow the TMO organization to plan, coordinate, and execute our work. You will support the OTO leadership team by providing strategic analysis and recommendations. You will own a portfolio of deliverables and collaborate with business partners from across the firm.

To ensure our partners have visibility into our priorities, plans and progress, you will help to facilitate governance and partner management. You will orchestrate and facilitate program status and topic meetings to ensure that team member and stakeholder alignment. You will ensure that accurate status and financial reports are drafted, working with OTO leaders and partners such as Finance and Project Services.

Business Strategy

  • Strategic analysis, including framing problems, structuring analysis, proposing creative options, and facilitating decision making
  • Responsible for participating in department wide strategy discussions interfacing directly with team members and partners in technology and business teams, proposing, developing and refining plans. Taking these plans and communicating them out to their teams, building awareness and seeking to delivery.
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative research and synthesizing findings to measurable recommendations
  • Independently researching new methodologies and approaches
  • Demonstrating sound business judgment and instincts to make effective business decisions
  • Logical and confident verbal communication with strong active listening skills and the ability to explain sophisticated ideas
  • Written communication including developing presentations for senior executive audience i.e., story lining and crafting visually compelling slides

Program Management

  • Coordinating and operationalizing large-scale programs in the financial services or operational spaces
  • Identifying and cataloguing all work efforts, ranking urgency and criticality, and identifying potential early wins
  • Detailing current and target resource utilization, and identifying resource gaps
  • Facilitating monthly prioritization and resource allocation reviews
  • Performing current and future state analyses
  • Drafting Target Operating Models (TOM) aligned with future state analyses
  • Creating a framework and approach to achieve the TOM, and tracking progress towards achievement
  • Coordinating, facilitating and aggregating reporting of program work stream status, key risks and issues
  • Preparing artifacts and deliverables for partner and leadership review and publication.

What you have


  • 8 + years of project and program management experience, managing multiple large, sophisticated and cross functional projects, with emphasis on product development, passionate about transformation, automation, and technology delivery.
  • BS/BA degree or higher in program/project management or a STEM field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering etc. Preference for candidates with an MBA or relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience influencing across organizational boundaries
  • Strong influencing, coaching and mentoring skills; demonstrated success in building credibility with peers and key stakeholders (often at a VP and SVP level) to drive action and change through focused execution of business priorities
  • Superior analytical capabilities and validated experience in managing a collection of projects/work streams.
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a highly matrixed organization
  • Self-starter who can drive and execute against outcomes
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Focused and versatile teammate that is comfortable under pressure
  • Demonstrated and applied experience establishing and delivering sophisticated projects
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences.
  • Ability to distill information to communicate the right message
  • Excellent problem-solving and advanced critical-thinking skills
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management tools and methodologies
  • Financial services and especially Schwab experience strongly preferred.
