JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for developing and fulfilling reporting needs for the Infrastructure Delivery and Shared Services organization. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with Product owners and teams to understand requirements for information, coordinate those requirements for the Data Platform, and then create new or modify existing reports and dashboards to deliver against those needs. Candidates must have strong data visualization skills, experience developing highly complex reports and presentations based on data from multiple sources and have a passion for telling stories with data. Expertise in report development using industry business intelligence tools is required

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

• 5+ years’ overall IT experience in business analytics, data analytics or related field including:
  • complex data modeling for data visualization and reporting
• 4+ years’ experience in the development, testing, implementation and administration of data, reports, and dashboards using industry business intelligence tools
• 2+ years’ experience in developing structured presentations (i.e. wireframes, swat analysis, mind mapping)
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certifications

Preferred Technical/Tools Expertise:

• 4 years’ experience developing in industry business intelligence tools including usage of multiple data sources, complex queries, views, stored procedures, and automation features
• Ability to integrate reports into other applications using embedded analytics or by API automation
• Proficiency with Excel advanced reporting techniques
• Proficiency with Power BI development, publishing, scheduling, and administration
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and SQL Server
• Comfortable using large amounts of complex data to see relationships, patterns, and trends
• Ability to independently manage small projects while also contributing to larger initiatives
• Experience communicating technical material to non-technical business partners to help them interpret data and uncover actionable information
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Agile experience

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

• Lead development of design methodology, and standards for reports and dashboards for iT Delivery
• Collaborate with iT Delivery Product Owners and Product Managers to address reporting and analytics requirements
• Elicit and document business requirements for metrics, report design, and dashboards.
• Translate business requirements into technical reporting specifications and develop wireframes
• Lead reporting design reviews (minimum viable product) to stakeholders to validate requirements
• Design, develop and maintain reports in Power BI and other analytical tools such as Excel and ServiceNow. Reports will have multiple data sources, complex queries, views, stored procedures, and automation features.
• Develop, execute, and document test plans for Power BI reports and dashboards
• Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports
• Performance tune Power BI reports and dashboards, recommend and implement tuning techniques
• Represent the Reporting & Metrics team as a partner on Product teams.
• Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools
• Explore new tools and methods to continuously improve the Reporting & Metrics teams’ capabilities and assist to establish a center of excellence
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and defects to determine root cause.
• Define metrics on report and dashboard usage
• Develop Analytics Catalog for iT Delivery
• Participate in Analytics Center of Excellence
• Train and/or mentor other team members, and peers as appropriate
• Complete special projects, as assigned
