Your Opportunity


The Manager, Business Strategy will be responsible for a variety of duties related to the integration. The ideal candidate will lead the health of all programs, and projects assigned to Employee Integration workstream while demonstrating firm and industry knowledge to strategically drive the successful integration of TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab. They will be involved in integration planning efforts that include critical and confidential information while encouraged to build and manage relationships across business units and between the two firms. The candidate will help facilitate critical thinking to drive decisions to ultimately make the experience for TD Ameritrade employees throughout integration and conversion as seamless as possible. The manager will need to utilize critical thinking to identify and track all key milestones, dependencies and risks, and assist with the preparation of any senior leadership materials for Employee Integration.

This is an individual contributor leadership role. Successful candidates are driven and disciplined while being comfortable with ambiguity. Employees within the Integration Management Office (IMO) are expected to be ambassadors of the integration and willing to prioritize the goals of the integration while constantly demonstrating core value and leadership expectations.

Through appropriate communication, relationships and influence this role will be responsible for supporting the Integration Team, Schwab and TD Ameritrade senior leadership as they make critical strategic decisions regarding the successful integration of TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab. This role will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization including, but not limited to, the IMO, Human Resources, Employment Standards, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Legal, HRIS, Technology, Finance and CRM, etc. A successful candidate will leverage strong strategic thinking, planning, analytical, relationship management, and communication skills to deliver high quality deliverables within tight timelines. It is also expected the role will bring new thinking and best practices to the integration team. Successful individuals have a track record of embracing the ambiguity and unpredictability of the responsibilities of this role and work quickly to develop plans of action for tasks as they come up.

What you are good at


  • Project management the end-to-end Employee Integration, including timelines, milestone reviews, organizational change strategy across all major Employee Integration influence groups
  • Build a framework to track and drive completion of all landmarks for Employee Integration
  • Lead all aspects of the health of the workstream
  • Interpret, summarize and present status of Employee Integration to IMO and senior leadership
  • Lead and provide support on multiple projects with varying degrees of breadth and depth
  • Partner and lead team of cross-organizational teams to aid in Employee Integration-related milestones and consult on ad-hoc projects to provide guidance and support to their team, as needed
  • Develop timeline cross-track collaboration, handle partnerships, and influence the timeline of results
  • Work cross functionally with diverse groups and functions in concert with integration counterparts
  • Communicate status of program and project results, ensure timely delivery of accurate project reporting
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage issues and risks; ensure awareness, appropriate escalation, and resolution
  • Clarify scope, objectives, outcomes, milestones, and dependencies; Recommend tactical and strategic actions that will deliver on integration goals and objectives
  • Prepare materials and seek answers to outside integration questions used to assist in facilitating decisions at the executive level

What you have


  • 4-year degree in business related field
  • 5+ years in financial services with an emphasis in Project Management
  • Experience leading sophisticated organizational change initiatives with resource and schedule constraints
  • Exceptional organizational skills and experience leading teams and large programs
  • Ability to connect with and influence senior level management with ease
  • Prior experience within employee experience and understanding of employee integration-related topics (preferred)
  • Prior experience leading technology-focused cross-organizational programs (preferred)
  • Ability to handle confidential information and show discretion while working through highly critical matters
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, energetic, positive, resourceful, and proactive with attention to details and accuracy
  • Demonstrative of creative problem-solving skills, analytical skills and self-starting skills
  • Ability to show flexibility in response to change and adaptability
  • Ability to see bigger picture in the context of project plans, growth mindset oriented
  • Superior communications skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated ability developing materials and effectively presenting information used to make decisions
  • Personally and professionally aligned with our vision and values and the purpose of the integration between Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade
  • Proven relationship management skills across matrix organizations
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
