UW Medical Center – Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a
full time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our Urology Clinic. For over 30 years, our Urology Clinic has offered specialized, customized treatments for urologic disorders. click here. SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Our Urology Clinic is open 8:00am - 5:00pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Bring patients to exam rooms and document heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight
Obtain patient history, determine patient needs, and prepare patient to see the medical provider
Accurately and thoroughly document the provision of patient care
Answer patient questions and follow through on patient inquiries
Administer medications and injections
Phone in pharmacy refills and oversee prior authorizations
Aid in the scheduling of procedures or tests
Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked with equipment and supplies
REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment. DESIRED: Previous experience in an outpatient clinic setting
Familiarity with Epic EMR software
