The Senior Manager, RPE Marketing & Education Strategy, plays a critical role in supporting these goals through forming the team’s education strategy and bringing that strategy to life for participants.

The Sr. Manager, Marketing & Education Strategy, is an individual contributor who collaborates with Marketing, Client Experience, and Product partners to develop new education strategies for Stock Plan Services (SPS) and other workplace participants. These strategies may include: enhanced digital education experiences; scalable, programmatic, multi-channel marketing campaigns; non-traditional content and distribution channels, including social media, podcast, and/or blog content. The individual we’re seeking is a specialist in crafting educational content and experiences in engaging, effective ways that both capture attention and enable understanding of sophisticated topics. This person is part education or Learning & Development professional, with experience setting and implementing education or L&D strategies; and part integrated Marketing and content development pro, adept at creating engaging experiences and campaigns that not only advise and educate, but drive engagement and action through a holistic marketing ecosystem.

A typical day for this role might involve leading ideation sessions with Client Experience and Product for a new digital education experience in the morning; communicating an update on Education Strategy & Vision to Schwab leaders mid-day; and providing creative feedback on educational guides, videos, emails and webinars in the afternoon. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, forward and innovative problem solver, and collaborator. This person is passionate about helping others learn in the most effective and engaging way, and enjoys the reciprocal, non-linear journey of creating educational experiences as much as the destination.

The Senior Manager is responsible for setting RPE Marketing’s education strategy, developing and implementing the execution plan, and working closely with partners to record program performance, identify ongoing needs or gaps, and continually optimize and improve. The ideal candidate has a consistent track record in developing new educational programs and content, and is well-versed in relationship marketing channels, including web, email, and social media.

Building strong relationships with our internal partners - and a solid understanding of financial services, equity compensation, and the needs and psychographics of SPS participants - are keys to success in this role.

What you are good at


  • Accountable for setting a vision for future-state SPS educational content, campaigns and experience strategies, and broadly communicating this vision for clear understanding and agreement.
  • Responsible for supervising the successful development and execution of integrated education and content strategies, in close coordination with RPE Marketing Manager.
  • Collaborates daily with key partners, including Client Experience, Product, and Retail Participant Experience. Acts as education and content SME with cross-functional teams.
  • Develops annual marketing plan with new and optimized educational experiences, campaigns and content, that drives engagement, retention, and other Key Performance Indicators.
  • Leads strategy and oversees execution of:
    • programmatic education campaigns and experiences to all SPS plan participants;
    • digital education experiences and content;
    • non-traditional education and content marketing channels and tactics;
    • templated and custom content support;
    • educational guides, videos, webcasts and emails;
    • education and content needs from Education Consulting Team
    • email automation and data integration initiatives
  • Sets a vision and strategy for driving scale; reducing demand for custom & manual content through innovative approaches and cross-functional strategies (e.g. partnership with Education Consultant team)
  • Collaborates closely with SPS Product and CE. Influences and advises education content, platforms, and technology projects and roadmaps as a trusted partner.
  • Collaborates closely with other Marketing and Education leads to share standard methodologies, vet ideas and find opportunities for driving further growth
  • Develops in-depth quarterly Marketing performance recaps to calibrate performance to-date and recommend improvements for subsequent quarters
  • Handles and reconciles budget on a monthly basis
  • Is viewed with confidence and trust as a valued business partner by SPS, CS and RPE, peers on the RPE Marketing team, and across Marketing

What you have


  • Minimum of 6-10 years of education, L&D, and/or marketing experience. Education/L&D and marketing combined is ideal. B:B (corporate client) and B:C (participant) marketing or education experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Financial Services and knowledge of investing and stock plan services is desired.
  • Exceptional communicator: communicates clearly, authentically, and persuasively.
  • Innovative, big-picture problem solver who defines a compelling vision of the future, and develops breakthrough ideas, whether big or small, that support that vision.
  • Able to pivot from leading strategy to supervising and communicating details of execution, with a deep understanding of digital channels and tactics.
  • Expertise in content marketing and building large-scale, multi-channel education strategies, as well as educational content that is engaging, compelling, and drives action.
  • Compassionate and client-motivated with an ability to see from the participants’ perspective and connect every Marketing tactic or communication to the bigger client experience and ecosystem.
  • Proficient in all of the marketing channels, ability to develop integrated marketing plans that bring together a coordinated set of tactics that deepen engagement across the client lifecycle.
  • Shown self-starter who is adept at working independently. Able to problem-solve and navigate ambiguity with ease.
  • Data-curious, and uses business results to help drive outcomes for RPE Marketing and SPS business line.
  • Effective change agent who can thoughtfully champion new insights, and mentor partners to recognize the benefits and adopt change for themselves.
  • Relentlessly curious, never satisfied with the status quo, seeks and implements recommendations for continuous improvement. Constantly seeks to learn more about our clients, competitors, industry and the broader market to drive insights and decisions.
  • Able to adapt plans as the situations evolve; achieve high performance in ambiguous environments
  • Supervises any external vendor relationships, as applicable.

Colorado Compensation
Target Total Compensation - 84,200 - 145,800.
