Product Manager, Jira Product Discovery

Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company. We are looking for an innovative product manager to join our Jira Product Discovery team. This product team is looking for an experienced leader to help us build for the future. You'll contribute to the product direction and be responsible for customer discovery, supporting early adopters, and translating customer feedback into the product roadmap. You will drive product development in close collaboration with the head of product, engineering, and design partners. If you're passionate about getting in the weeds and scaling processes to support customers and a product from launch, this role might be for you! This is a hands-on position, in a startup team of 10-15 people with the expectation to grow to two to three times its current size. The team is looking for a self-starter who is a multiplier with excellent execution skills. Jira Product Discovery is a product for product managers, so they can build what matters with a place to capture insights and opportunities, prioritize impact, and rally teams behind product plans – from discovery through delivery. • You have a startup mentality and a passion for building products. Although within Atlassian, this is a small, creative team, that needs to be agile, work quickly, and think BIG. • You have both a strategic vision, yet crafty execution-style. You will need to think big but be able to get into the weeds and quickly produce.
• You’re an excellent, personable communicator and writer with lots of creativity and curiosity.
• You want to spend time with customers to understand new ways to tackle problems in the product management space.
• You love designing and executing experiments, using a combination of qualitative and quantitive data to measure success. You’re not afraid to admit when you were wrong about a hypothesis.
• You’re comfortable with uncertainty and are able to make data driven decisions without complete evidence.
• You have strong opinions but enjoy being challenged to think about a problem from a different angle.

In this role, you'll get to:

• Spend as much time as possible talking to customers and analyzing customer feedback to advise product decisions – including defining the roadmap and executing on the vision.
• Play a hybrid role between product and customer success including: speaking with prospects, guiding the customer’s understanding of new products through demos, building positive relationship with users and customers to ensure they have the best possible customer experience and relaying information back to the product.
• Set up product support processes and tooling that will scale with the product (and team) including collecting feedback, own and manage the Atlassian Community and train future Community leaders; work with the product team to identify gaps in the product capabilities, communicate recurring support problems, usability issues, feature requests, etc.
• Work closely with Head of Product to provide input on the long term vision of the Jira Product Discovery product.
• Work closely with engineers to define product specs and iterate on experiences as they are delivered.
• Align with the product marketing team to ensure new features are shared with and adopted by customers.
• Collaborate across other teams at Atlassian to encourage cross-flow and platform adoption that enables Atlassian as a whole to scale.
