Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical North American Sales division is currently seeking an Energy Transition Business Development Manager to join our team. This position is based in Northeast, Southeast, or Central Regions.

EATON ELECTRICAL is hiring a knowledgeable, collaborative, and passionate Senior Sales Business Development Manager to actively drive and manage sales, business development opportunities, and the technical aspects of selling EATON ELECTRICAL’s Energy Transition basket of products including services & turnkey projects associated with renewable energy adoption, electrification of transportation, and distributed energy resource management.

The Services Energy Transition Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer and partner relationships, helping to close sales pipeline, and creating programs that will drive market share leadership and dramatic revenue ramp for the company with customers in the public and private transportation, commercial & industrial and utility sectors. To succeed, you must have strong track record of supporting sales growth, utilities market awareness & relationships, a keen eye for technical details, and a passion for delivering Energy Transition offerings.

Responsibilities

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Grow and develop new sales and Business Development opportunities to support EATON ELECTRICAL ’s Energy Transition / EVCI / distributed energy resource integration and microgrid strategic growth plan
  • Lead and manage new customer accounts
  • Assist with product development efforts by gathering Voice of Customer feedback and project specifications to advise respective engineering and product line teams
  • Develop relationships with consultants, designers, end users, specifiers, utilities, EPC, developers and systems integrators focused in the energy transition infrastructure

Eaton & Partner Sales Development

  • Leverage contacts with Eaton’s existing sales organization to develop longer sales cycle opportunities. Be recognized as a thought leader in these emerging markets.
  • Develop external relationships with key partners including reps, EPC’s, Energy Developers, and other key players in these emerging markets.
  • Annual Growth Plan for direct sales, channel, and partner sales

Technical Sales

  • Engage prospects in technical sales aspects of EATON ELECTRICAL’s Energy Transition basket of products including services & turnkey projects associated with renewable energy adoption, electrification of transportation, and distributed energy resource management
  • Site Walks and initial project scoping.
  • Interact with design and build partners, project developers, EPC firms, utilities, commercial and industrial end users

Account Executive

  • Manage prospects, maintain and improve key customer relationships
  • Help Eaton sales organization with RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses for EATON ELECTRICAL solutions related to Energy Transition offerings
  • Provide effective communication and status updates to all internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 8 years of electrical sales or electrical engineering experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Minimum of 10 years of deep domain expertise and experience with the power distribution and controls industry, developing and deploying electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrids, power distribution, power quality and control solutions for the commercial and industrial markets.
  • 5+ years of outcomes selling, consultative, selling experience to executive and technical buyers.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and translating business use cases to solution requirements and architecture documentation, with focus on electrical products, solutions, software and services.
