Content Marketing Writer, IDEO U

IDEO U is IDEO’s consumer education brand that supports learning innovation, creativity, and skills for the modern workplace among learners all over the world. The Role

IDEO U is looking for a Content Marketing Writer to create, and produce stories and experiences to build awareness, drive engagement and conversion for IDEO’s online learning platform. We are seeking a strategic marketing writer with storytelling and writing chops who understands the digital marketing ecosystem (social, blog and web) and can produce quality content while working across multiple teams. This person will work seamlessly across owned, earned and paid channels to craft and execute our content marketing programs. As the Content Marketing Writer for IDEO U, you’ll play a key role in one of IDEO’s new ventures and be part of a team that’s expanding marketing across the organization.

• Relevant experience developing content across a variety of mediums and channels such as social, email, web, and video
• Experience storytelling through both long-form (e.g. articles) and short-form (e.g. social media)
• Ability to understand and translate strategic briefs into compelling marketing content across diverse perspectives and channels
• Demonstrated communication, editing, and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions
• Ability to operate in a highly variable, fast-paced, and creative environment with a culture of experimentation

Nice-To-Haves:

• CMS platform, Google Analytics, and SEO experience

In This Role, You Will

• Serve as the primary writer for IDEO U, partnering with freelance writers and acting as an editor as needed
• Work with the marketing team on the strategy and execution of marketing campaigns and content marketing programs
• Work closely with the web and creative services team and report to the Senior Marketing Lead
• Assist in the development of content writing for IDEO U including articles, blog posts, podcasts, emails, social and videos with the goal of inspiring learners around the globe and supporting the business objectives of IDEO U
• Proactively propose articles and topics for the IDEO U blog and social content series on timely and relevant topicsReceive story briefs and lead the execution for content marketing programs including scheduling and production
• Interview past learners and craft narrative pieces that will be published on our blog, email and social
• Work closely with our senior writer to edit or review time sensitive marketing copy requests as needed
• Partner closely with Creative Services team and guide design briefing for adjacent imagery and design needs across content projects
