Job Description

The Role

The OBS is part of a global team charged with setting each restaurant up for success, maximizing the value OpenTable can bring to their restaurant operations, and driving customer engagement. Leading the restaurant through configuring their software, to training key staff, and setting a restaurant live, the Onboarding Specialist will work remotely, using various tools and procedures to guide the restaurant through the entire onboarding process using a consultative approach. OBS are measured on the volume and quality of each implementation based on a set of goals and benchmarked against others in the team.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contact our restaurants and guide them through the onboarding process
• Work with our restaurant partners to discover specific business needs and offer an expert plan of action including marketing tools and configuration of the OpenTable system
• Use phone and online tools to train key restaurant staff with an emphasis on specific ways the restaurant can use OpenTable to optimize their operations
• Provide administrative and coordinator functions related to Global Onboarding program including scheduling training activities, content collection, and software implementations
• Work with restaurant staff and potential 3rd parties to deploy OpenTable booking widgets on restaurant partner websites
• Work with internal stakeholders to help develop and refine the onboarding program
• Communicate status of tasks and the backlog to peers and a broader community

Required

• 1+ years experience, preferably in a hospitality, Customer Success or implementation role Experience training non-technical customers on the use of software
• English plus one additional European language, German preferred.
• Ability to use a consultative approach to onboarding using active discovery in order to implement best practices and drive engagement
• Ability to build rapport with key decision makers to become a trusted advisor
• Inspire customers to think differently about their business in ways that will help both them and OpenTable achieve success
• Share data with restaurants to change behavior and drive adoption
• Understanding of restaurant operations a must with direct restaurant experience highly desirable
• Excellent communication, listening, influencing and training skills
• Ability to make smart decisions based on key facts in potentially ambiguous situations
• Self-motivated to get things done with minimal supervision
• Good phone and tele-presence required for effective training and implementation
• Excellent organization, documentation and time management skills
