Aladdin Data Cloud is BlackRock’s managed data-as-a-service solution, powered by Snowflake’s data platform Aladdin Data Cloud provides users with a single platform to host all of their data—from both inside and outside Aladdin—and the ability to harness that data efficiently for a myriad of uses. It is a premium add-on that is available in Aladdin Studio, a workshop for building on top of Aladdin, that provides all the tools you need to quickly build scalable solutions. Aladdin Data Cloud can be positioned side by side with your Aladdin in Azure, or in the commercial cloud of your choice with the goal of opening up Aladdin data to clients in an unfettered way!

We started out as a hackathon project several years ago and iterated. We have been live at many clients and recently announced a partnership with Snowflake expanding its reach.

We are a distributed team with people based in New York, London, and Gurgaon.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding of new datasets onto Aladdin Data Cloud by being hands-on involved with understanding the data model, creation of database objects, store procs and/or stage tables, updating ETL jobs and rolling out new datasets to users across growing set of clients
• Work closely with multiple product teams to understand their data warehousing requirements
• Design and develop more automation to onboard of new datasets to convert this into a self-service model – to enable internal as well as external teams
• Be part of a highly performant engineering team

Qualifications

• 5 - 7years of experience as a software engineer
• Experience with at least 2 languages out of Java, Scala or Python
• Experience with data warehouses, preferably cloud offerings
• Experience with ETL jobs and best practices
• Experience with Snowflake would be a plus
• Understanding of bi-temporal, long-time series data stores, data management
• Experience in using NoSQL technologies like Cassandra, working in an API first engineering team, and using SQL.
• Strong analytical and software architecture design skills
• Effective communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) are required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or engineering preferred.
