Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS technologies.
  • Experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment, or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role (including working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with networking concepts including routing, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Map Reduce, Hadoop, Spark, Flume, Hive, Impala, SparkSQL, BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure-related technologies (e.g. Containers, Kubernetes, VMs). Experience in, and understanding of, data and information management as it relates to Big Data ML trends within businesses, and using and/or managing databases.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud technology space.

You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

As a Partner Engineer, you'll work with the Cloud Partner and Sales teams to grow and develop the technical capacity of our Google Cloud partner ecosystem. You will help recruit, launch, and grow our partners, enabling their technical teams and assisting them and joint customers in their technical journey with Google Cloud.

In this role, you'll focus on supporting our partners and partner team. You'll become a trusted advisor to our partners and prospects, helping them get as much value out of our platform as possible. Partner Engineers work as an ally to Partner Managers, using both technical and business skillsets to move things forward as efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an advocate for technical partner resources, and translate requirements for customers, presenting and explaining Google’s products and solutions. Oversee product positioning and associated deep-dives.
  • Work with Google Cloud Partners leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize joint market opportunities. Participate in periodic business plan review meetings, providing insight into how to best secure technical wins on prospects.
  • Work hands-on with Google's enterprise Cloud Platform products to demonstrate/prototype integrations in customer/partner environments. Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure to successfully implement a complete solution, providing best practice advice to customers/partners to optimize Google Cloud Platform effectiveness.
  • Support partners and partner managers regarding customer-related activities. Drive business growth through the use/application of technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of a Google Cloud practice within Global System Integrators.
