How we LEAD:
To bring our artists’ vision and creative output to the public by developing a fan base, creating demand for releases, and expanding the fan base over time.
We will achieve this by delivering music and visual content to a targeted audience in each phase of an artists’ career. We will work with our Creative team to help develop an artist proposition and create narratives that are expressed through our content offers, artist engagement with fans, and creating engaging discovery moments.
How you’ll CREATE:
- Own, quarterback and lead artist and release projects for each assigned artist on roster; act as project/release manager for each artist and release.
- This role sets the overall strategy for the project, in tandem with the Head of Marketing, and ensures that all departments and third-party resources are working together to achieve the goals and objectives outlined in the plan.
- The role should focus on formulating strategy through targeted fan segmentation, creating demand in the marketplace and driving release activities in collaboration with each label department.
- Work collaboratively with A&R, Creative and artist/management to identify and establish the current artist proposition and campaign narrative (led by Creative).
- Work with the research and analysis group to gain artist insights and to identify target audiences with which to build marketing plans for each audience segment and in each phase of an artist’s career.
- Work collaboratively with digital marketing lead to ensure day to day fan engagement activities are appropriate and driving to build audiences and consistent engagement.
- Develop the overall release plan/framework, concentrating on consumer driven marketing approach first and foremost, with the appropriate goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with each department to articulate the overall project objectives and solicit department plans that support these objectives for each artist phase and releases.
- Work with internal and external resources to implement influencer campaigns as appropriate.
- Work with internal and external resources to implement brand and lifestyle marketing opportunities as appropriate.
- Ensure all elements of the plan from each department come together in a timely manner and in connection with the overall goals and objectives.
- Act as primary liaison between artist and label, maintaining awareness and helping to resolve any artist issues, plans, and sensitivities while maintaining the labels best interests.
- Communicate status of release plans to executives and to all departments label wide.
- Consistently analyze results of marketing efforts as well as any other contextual marketing conditions; identify key opportunities and challenges and communicate to the broader team.
- Effectively manage marketing plan against budget for each assigned project.
- Work with media buying team to plan and book advertising campaigns.
- Oversee collateral marketing content and materials to ensure they are appropriately aligned with artist narrative.
- Assist international strategies by communicating information and creating appropriate tools for international territories for assigned projects.
- Oversee the creation, timely delivery and accuracy of all production elements and tools required for releases.
- Support the various departments by ensuring they receive timely and accurate project information as well as assets required and to adjust plans as needed.
Bring your VIBE:
- This position requires dedicated experience and knowledge of the hip hop, R&B, and rhythmic pop genres
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Music industry experience with an emphasis in marketing and the Urban space
- General knowledge of all departments within a label, including Digital, publicity, A&R, creative, production and promotion
- Organize, prioritize, and execute a wide range of tasks with heavy workloads and tight deadlines
- Creativity and willingness to think outside the box
- Strong teamwork skills and communication abilities with the ability to write and convey marketing plans/efforts to executives and management
- Must be innovative with a high degree of energy, flexibility and interpersonal skills.
- Must be adaptable and ability to establish good relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word
