Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of technical work experience in hardware and OS/embedded software development.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently to manage strategic partnerships with key OEM/ODM partners independently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in device product planning and development.
  • Experience with embedded system design, debugging and troubleshooting, and familiarity with Linux and firmware.
  • Experience working with Japanese companies.
  • Ability to speak and write in Japanese fluently.
  • Outstanding technical program/project management skills.
  • Excellent client or partner relationship management skills and superb written and verbal communications.

About the job

Google’s Chrome OS Partner Engineering team works closely with chipset manufacturers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) in designing and delivering next-generation innovative mobile/cloud devices. We build relationships with our long-term partners, who are jointly making Chrome/Android platform into optimized cloud and portable devices. We are driving toward a fast, secure, and simple user experience for all Chrome devices and we're growing with the Android Apps in the Chromebook ecosystem.

As a Technical Account Manager on the Chrome OS Partner Engineering team, you are responsible for driving device technical innovations and making our business partners successful. You will contribute to our current product lines and will collaborate with teams throughout Google to develop device solutions for strategic partners around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with large hardware manufacturers in JAPAC (mainly but not limited to Japan and Korea) to grow the Chrome OS ecosystem.
  • Lead product portfolio and end-to-end device product development and launch.
  • Work on device bring up, key feature integration, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Represent Google as the main product and technical point of contact when working with OEM/ODM partners.
