Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience reading/debugging code: Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, Javascript
  • Additional background check clearance to work with Government clients
  • Ability to work differing work rotations/shifts and non-standard work hours.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies, architecture/infrastructure needs, compute infrastructure, supporting, maintaining cloud solutions.
  • Experience supporting products like Windows Server 2008+, SQL Server, Storage Spaces Direct, Active Directory.
  • Experience with IaaS: virtual machines, networks, on-premises/hybrid cloud computing, monitoring, security models, logging, local and cloud storage.
  • Experience with group policy and handling patching with Microsoft products in hybrid/cloud platform environment.
  • Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, multi-tenancy, scale out and scale up architectures, shared storage solutions, and clustering solutions.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-grade Windows operating systems, Linux/Unix, and of network technologies.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer you will be a part of a global team that provides 24x7 support to help customers seamlessly make the switch to Google Cloud. When customers cannot resolve issues themselves, your job will be to ensure that we have the necessary tools and processes to resolve the issue. You will troubleshoot technical problems for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and when needed, coding/scripting. You will help drive the success of Google Cloud by understanding and advocating for our customers’ issues. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours or shifts (nights, weekends and holidays). This may include weekend work. This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Responsibilities

  • Understand customer impact, handle escalations through diagnosis, troubleshooting, resolution on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products through excellent customer management. Contribute to Supportability Engineering with product, site reliability, and engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce contact rate.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of Microsoft Products on GCP technologies and solutions by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining root cause.
  • Act as subject matter expert for stakeholders and customer organizations, resolve technical deployment obstacles related with Microsoft Server 2008+, SQL Server 2012+, Active Directory and other related products through understanding issue management and resolution processing.
  • Work as part of a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24 hour customer support. Work non-standard hours or shifts occasionally.
  • Improve support experience by developing best practices/playbooks based on learnings according to complex customer requirements and technical implementations.
