As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

The Consumer Credit team is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategic initiatives and processes to drive the company credit culture, appetite, and business performance. Provides credit risk governance and oversight across assigned businesses and/or functions. Leads significant initiatives and processes, and partners with line of business management to drive the company credit culture, appetite, and business performance. Advises and counsels executive leadership. Directs and coordinates the various activities related to assessing and predicting risk and performance through business analysis and/or modeling. Analyzes and approves products, programs, policies, and large complex credits. Determines appropriate strategies that ensure risk is within risk appetite. Acts as a technical expert for senior management on highly complex issues. Leads the execution of programs and policies with a measureable impact on the level of risk taken in credit activities. Develops and implements strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture. Leads implementation of initiatives with moderate to high risk. Internal collaboration with business for oversight of risk management. May interface with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics. May lead project/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other team members.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following -
• Take lead on the development and execution of senior and executive level presentations with the goal of successfully and effectively communicating the Auto Risk story to key internal and external partners.
• Closely partner and collaborate across Consumer Credit, WF Auto and Chief Risk Officer organization to analyze, interpret and communicate key objectives, trends, results, initiatives and issues.
• Provide clear and concise communications/presentations across key forums/meetings/committees and partners
• Help develop a standard credit risk monitoring package for use across multiple organizational levels
• Take lead and consult with partners to identify and implement efficiencies
• Develop and maintain documented procedures for recurring presentations, including a presentation library to archive materials, topics covered, dates and audience


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of credit risk experience
  • 7+ years of experience in risk role

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities


Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to manage work independently and collaborate with partners.
  • Consumer Credit Risk experience (Auto preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wells Fargo consumer lending products, data and analytics
  • Knowledge and understanding of the lifecycle of a loan from originations and account management to collections
  • Passion for learning and for setting stretch goals to drive the organization forward
  • Experience working with large sets of information and producing executive level, actionable recommendations
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and present recommended resolutions in a clear, concise manner
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail
  • Focus on key deliverables and results to provide value added services and support to executives
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines with a strong drive, curiosity and willingness to research data and processes
  • Team player with the ability to work across the organization and build lasting relationships across the firm
  • Exceptional written presentation skills - including demonstrated ability to create strong executive level presentations
