Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking; commercial real estate lending and servicing; investment banking; equity; and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

The Wells Fargo Corporate and Investment Banking Group (CIB) serves large corporate and institutional clients that span a broad range of businesses across the investment grade, non-investment grade, public, and private spaces, both domestically and internationally. Wells Fargo banks nearly 3 out of 4 Fortune 500 companies and through CIB, our Corporate Bankers serve our clients by using the Wells Fargo balance sheet for financing our clients’ day-to-day corporate activities as well as strategic activity, including mergers and acquisitions. Corporate Bankers cover both large corporate and middle market clients through the CIB platform and are also responsible for generating ideas and solutions across Wells Fargo’s suite of products and services. Our Corporate Bankers meet regularly with Wells Fargo clients regarding Debt Financing and Treasury Management strategies among other banking products that Corporate Treasurers look to us to provide. Additionally, CIB Corporate Bankers partner with CIB Investment Bankers to evaluate potential acquisition targets, perform debt financing analysis, and ultimately provide or help source any debt financing needs.

Our CIB Coverage Teams are organized by industry vertical to provide the appropriate level of specialization and partner with our CIB Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and M&A teams to deliver Corporate and Investment Banking solutions to our clients. The CIB Coverage Industry verticals include:

Financial Institutions Group Overview
We are seeking an experienced Analyst to support the Financial Institutions Group within CIB. The Financial institutions Group (FIG) manages global relationships with Diversified Financial Institutions (insurance companies, broker dealers, asset managers, exchanges, and specialty finance companies) and global banking institutions (banks / depository institutions, International Financial Institutions, Supranationals, and Sovereigns). In this role, you will focus on covering clients in the Diversified Financials sectors.

Responsibilities
Key Analysts responsibilities that Analysts may participate in include:

  • Performing company and industry research;
  • Preparing historical financial performance analysis and modeling future financial performance to identify key credit risks;
  • Preparing client marketing materials utilizing Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills;
  • Assisting in the preparation of credit underwriting materials and presentations for Wells Fargo’s Risk Committee approval;
  • Assisting with deal closings;
  • Support the management of existing client relationships through the ongoing monitoring of industry events, company press releases, and financial statements and preparing memorandums to update management on the latest client information as needed.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: financial analysis, credit analysis, relationship management, portfolio management, equity or venture capital investing; or successful completion of formal credit training; or a BS/BA degree or higher granted prior to hire date

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in Corporate and/or financial institution underwriting experience
  • 1+ year of experience in Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, and/or financial institution sector experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services credit risk management
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Securities industry experience including industry-specific coverage
  • Strong organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • Ability to achieve business results and willing to accept accountability for achieving goals
  • Ability to act with integrity, good character and exercise sound judgment
