What is the opportunity?
This individual will be supporting with regulatory and strategic initiatives and projects for Risk across the US and APAC. The scope will cover both CTB and RTB activities supporting Enterprise Risk and broader Risk functions, working with owners and stakeholders. This individual will support New Jersey and Malaysia team on executing on the various Enterprise Risk initiatives and in addition, supporting with business analysis activities for numerous stakeholders within US, Europe and APAC Risk.
What will you do?
Head of GRM Policy- Responsible for the active management of GRM policies for the U.S. Risk Office, including the development of new policies, amendments to existing policies and providing support on policy practices to the Businesses and other Corporate Support Segments as appropriate, and for meeting GRM Enterprise Policy requirements.
- Identify, prioritize and address U.S. Risk Office policy needs in an effective and timely manner.
- Work independently and effectively to develop policy concepts into new risk policy documents, investigate and resolve policy related issues within the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, other specific risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Work actively with other teams to leverage their subject matter expertise to develop effective CUSO and enterprise-wide solutions and policies.
- Provide assistance and expertise to others in RBC on the proper interpretation of CUSO and enterprise-wide risk policies.
- Assist others in the U.S. Risk Office and across CUSO in the development and implementation of risk policies, ensuring that these are in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and with relevant enterprise-wide policies.
- As necessary or when requested provide support to projects, initiatives and/or GRM’s reporting requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare, present and steer policy documents through the approval process with Senior Management and committees such as the CUSO Risk Management Committee (CUSO RMC) and the Risk Committee of RBC U.S. Group Holdings, LLC.
Regulatory and Strategic Initiatives- Manage and support with the execution of regulatory and strategic initiatives for US, Europe and APAC Risk
- Support CTB and RTB regulatory initiatives, engagement, responses and remediation execution
- Support with alignment with other Risk functions regarding regulatory initiatives and strategic operating approach
- Support and manage new initiatives contributing to increased efficiency and effectiveness of US, Europe and APAC Risk
- Drive coordination and collaboration between stakeholders, management and leadership to ensure successful project and initiative completions
Business Analysis - Perform in-depth data analysis and examination to support decision making and remediation / execution activities for regulatory and strategic work
- Create presentations and summary statistics for regulators, senior management and other stakeholders, which summarize findings and proposed solutions
- Support with status updates, planning and reporting to regulators, compliance, senior management, project owners and other stakeholders
- Assist with communication and governance strategies, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and other key parties, as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Regulatory engagement and coordination experience
- Managing projects and initiatives for multiple stakeholders
- Business analysis and strategic thinking
- Managing work and deliverables to meet set milestones
- Knowledge of regulatory engagement process, project lifecycle, business transformation and analysis, management / committee reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields
- 6+ years previous experience work in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization.
Nice To Have
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields or Risk Management (ex. FRM) certification
