Description:

Providence is calling a Senior Manager Clinical Operations (Administration, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) at St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and guide the implementation of organizational policies and procedures in compliance with state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines. Assure adequate preparation for, and participates in, regulatory compliance surveys. Monitors existing policies, procedures, and programs for effectiveness. Ensures compliance with standards established by relevant oversight bodies.
  • Directly oversee and ensure compliance for: diagnostic imaging program to meet all quality and regulatory requirements including radiation safety program and adherence to nuclear regulatory commission requirements. Oversees laboratory program to meet all quality and regulatory requirements as established by CMS and the Joint Commission for a CLIA certified laboratory. Ensures full operational support needs of hospital are met.
  • Directly overseesand ensure quality and regulatory needs are met and operational needs supported for: food and nutrition department, dietician team to ensure alignment with integrated care team, activities coordination staff to ensure activities needs for long term chronically ill patients are met through program design and implementation, transportation program including all movement of patients between St. Elias and outlying facilities, contract maintenance for St. Elias operational needs, sterile processing program, and project coordination.
  • Perform all duties and roles associated with being hospital safety officer, meeting regulatory requirements for Life Safety functions, organizing and running Environment of Care (EOC) program, and oversees emergency operations program at St. Elias Specialty Hospital, inclusive of incident command and emergency management planning.
  • Align with RESO to ensure: established preventive maintenance schedules and prioritized repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations, plant engineering capability of hospital and systems for control and efficient, effective use of all utilities, the functions and activities of facilities management and engineering, and planning for and oversight of major repairs, renovations, and new construction. Serves as liaison between hospital and RESO during construction cycle. Ensures inspection of building and grounds to ensure conformance with established standards and regulations.
  • Monitor the accuracy and reliability of financial data as it pertains to department(s) oversight. Provides timely and sufficient data for use in program planning and evaluation.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent educ/experience.
  • Eight (8) years progressively responsible experience in hospital operations.
  • Five (5) years management experience.

About St. Elias Specialty Hospital

St. Elias Specialty Hospital is owned by Providence Health System. The hospital has 59 beds, almost all private rooms. The facility features state of the art equipment to provide extended inpatient acute care for patients.

At St. Elias Specialty Hospital, we provide customized, physician-driven services for patients requiring longer stays in an acute care environment due to multiple or complex medical conditions. We are not a permanent placement for patients; rather we are an answer for many patients who are acutely ill and need to take the first steps towards rehabilitation or home.
