Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking; commercial real estate lending and servicing; investment banking; equity; and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

The Fixed Income Market and Portfolio Strategy Group (Strategies) is seeking to fill one Vice President on the Strategies team. The Strategies group generates fixed income analysis, applies it to bond valuations, and presents the results to institutional investors and internal clients.

The Vice President will support the senior analysts in the strategy process to produce published reports, prepare data, identify relative value, and interact with clients. The job requires the ability to work quickly and accurately with large amounts of data, and to present the results in a clear and concise format. The Vice Presidents will participate in a collaborative process of generating ideas, sharing market intelligence, and in reviewing peer work product. This is a client-facing role.

  • Analyze fixed income products and identify cross sector and intra-sector relative value
  • Analyze client portfolios and assist them in meeting their performance goals
  • Engage with clients on individual transactions and on portfolio positioning strategies
  • Interact closely with fixed income sales and trading at all levels and across all products CIB trades.
  • Supervise the creation of deliverables by more junior analysts in the group.
  • Create fixed income thematic pieces on instruments CIB trades, especially instruments in which depository clients invest.
  • Utilize third party and internal analytical systems to optimize client performance.
  • Enhance the suite of offering to the Group’s internal and external constituents

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in capital markets, industry experience within the specific sector of the position, or a combination of both


Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with financial modeling, especially the creation of those models
  • A thorough understanding of depository balance sheets – capital, performance metrics, and fixed income portfolio.
  • Experience engaging with “C-suite” executives at depositories.
  • Public accounting experience auditing depositories or broker dealers is a plus.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

The position requires a high level of initiative and the ability to work within a fast-paced team environment. The candidate must bring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Precise attention to detail is essential. The candidate must demonstrate a habit of learning and mastering complex material and a practiced ability to communicate the same.


Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
