Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate to join our Central Market P&L team in Houston.

About the role:

Oscar is changing how Medicare Advantage and health insurance plans work by leveraging technology and service to drive superior health outcomes. We brought together leaders from top technology, service and healthcare companies to work side by side to improve the industry. The result? Better people, better ideas, and better healthcare.

You will be responsible for driving Medicare Advantage and Individual (ACA) membership growth through our system, IPA, and provider partnerships. You will spearhead the local network strategy, ensuring providers across our service area have the information and support they need to provide best-in-class member care, maximize growth, and drive quality outcomes.

You will report into the Associate Director, Texas P&L. This is a remote role, you will work remotely in the following state: Texas. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute on local network development and engagement strategies with independent providers, physician networks, and systems
  • Help to grow the network through building out contracting list of key specialists working with in-network PCPs and assisting with contracting when necessary
  • Leverage existing in-market relationships to grow Oscar's network and develop favorable relationships with in-network providers
  • Explain contract nuances — such as fee-for-service, capitation, and risk — while reviewing and amending contracts as necessary to realize network cost efficiencies
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on sales strategy, broker tabling, community events, co-marketing, etc.
  • Analyze network gaps, research providers to bring in-network, and identify new partnership and market opportunities
  • Optimize health outcomes and measurements such as HEDIS by educating providers on proper coding, prescribing patterns, member ER utilization, etc.
  • Partner with Oscar's Medical Cost Management team to implement strategies that drive profitability and growth
  • Project manage tech and provider integration efforts
  • Driving awareness of novel Oscar initiatives

Requirements:

  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • You have 4+ years of professional experience
  • You have 3+ years experience in healthcare network partnerships, provider or network contracting, consulting, healthcare analytics, or sales distribution - preferably in Texas
  • You have an understanding of healthcare contracts and rates

Bonus points:

  • You will be the face of Oscar in the market and must build and maintain excellent relationships with local provider partners
  • Wherewithal to juggle multiple tasks, including service and support, network development, working cross-functionally, driving quality outcomes with provider partners, mitigating provider education issues, etc.
  • Capacity to think strategically around which providers represent the best opportunity to grow with Oscar and to design the game plan to work on provider-led growth
