The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

This position will lead an agile engineering team supporting technology solutions development in order for Wells Fargo to be compliant with 338 controls that map to the following 12 PCI goals:

  • Install and maintain a firewall configuration to protect card holder data
  • Do not use vendor-supplied defaults for system passwords and other security parameters.
  • Protect stored cardholder data
  • Encrypt transmissions of cardholder data across open, public networks
  • Protect all systems against malware and regularly update anti-virus software or programs
  • Develop and maintain secure systems and applications
  • Restrict access to cardholder data by business need to know
  • Identify and authenticate access to system components
  • Restrict physical access to cardholder data
  • Track and monitor all access to network resources and cardholder data
  • Regularly test security systems and processes
  • Maintain a policy that addresses information security for all personnel

In this role, you partner with business product managers, lead systems architects, and senior engineers to develop product functional and technical strategy for the domain(s), including development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps and shaping prioritized features. Additionally, you will design/develop re-usable patterns/solutions for application development teams across the enterprise to leverage.

Collaborate within and across agile teams to design, test, implement, support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and methodologies and assist in hiring top engineering talent.

A large portion of the work will focus on protecting cardholder data (in transit and stored) which may include encrypting customer data and/or removing the cardholder credit card number or replacing the credit card number with a Card Reference Number (CRN). This entails providing data lineage and meta data for system process flows, and moving applications to a protected segment of the network for applications that cannot eliminate the use of the credit card number.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 4+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment


Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of financial services industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Payment Card Industry (PCI) controls
  • Experience with Agile methodology of project delivery


Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in building technology solutions that are compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards
