About the Role
The Technology Manager will manage/lead team/s and provides technical leadership for a portfolio of applications/capabilities within the Application / Platform support team. Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of numerous factors. The Platform team has knowledge of the environments, software/systems, production & SDLC functions/processes, performance, availability, capacity and overall eco-system in terms of 'run the bank' services. These technology teams provide and support Consumer Lending systems and core capabilities including: Home Lending and Retail Lending technologies. We need team members with diverse experience to support the transformation, enrichment and continued maturity of our services to business and technology partners.
The goal of our platforms is to provide high-quality, standardized, innovative solutions to serve our core business needs in a consistent and efficient way. The incumbent will lead a team of engineers and support personnel in the Wells Fargo Platform and Application support team partnering with development teams, product owners, scrum masters, and with other technology centers of excellence. The Platform manager is responsible for leading engineers/analyst who are responsible for ensuring availability of our portfolio of applications, defining and implementing strategies for handling incident & problem management, issue resolution & communication, tracking various changes across the portfolio, monitoring instrumentation, operational health & new solutions to improve platform/application stability, quality & supportability along with overall operational and technology risk management as per the enterprise guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
Lead medium to large cross-organizational transformational efforts in Platform space
• Deliver results in less defined & constantly changing environments
• Communicate with broad, deep and diverse audiences, including technology and business leaders; ability to simplify complex messages for consumption
• Build long term relationships with a broad set of partners and influence them to a common vision and strategy
• Bring in operational management and sustainment for horizontal systems/services within Platform monitoring domains.
• Partner to influence and support innovation & continued drive towards automation, touch less operational sustainment as a design/architecture construct working with CIO technology partners/managers
• Operational sustainment and reduce risks in the eco-system by aggressively pursuing safety and soundness type of actions not limited to vulnerability, patching, end of life and resiliency
• Oversight of all Production/BCP support activities for the platform and applications with 24x7 coverage model in a global team setup.
• Drive operational management via EACO/Incident response, communication and tracking along with root cause identification and closure.
• Oversight of all production eco-system changes.
• Provides operational continuity through the development, management, measurement, analysis and reporting of key service-level metrics as required by management
Market Skills and Certifications
Essential Qualifications
- Must have 15+ years of experience including performance testing and engineering solutions and a proven record of 25+ team members
- Must have set-up / manage Performance Engineering Center of Excellence in the past
- Keep abreast with emerging trends in performance engineering and providing recommendations for process improvements
- Must have high level understanding of the application architecture for different application technologies
- Should have knowledge on end-to-end process for overall performance engineering projects
- Should have experience in defining strategies and handling large scale performance engineering projects in cloud and agile set up
- Collaborate and define framework for non-functional requirements testing at an overall line of business level with multiple stakeholders
- Oversee and guide Performance Engineering teams concurrently on multiple projects.
- Perform delivery management functions in a global delivery model, collaborating with US technology managers to identify and execute appropriate projects.
- Partner across teams to initiate, promote & implement engineering best practices, drive engineering excellence, and bring new methodologies/approaches to the team
- Experience in building and implementing Application / Functional scoring models as well as Release train
- Experience using performance testing tools including Load Runner, Jmeter, Blazemeter, Performance Center and monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace etc is preferred
- Knowledge of .NET, JAVA, UNIX and/or Java Script a plus.
- Must have knowledge of databases.
- Must have attention to detail, a commitment to Quality and be business focused.
- Ability to actively engage business/technology partners, present, defend & challenge technical recommendations
- Strong demonstrated human relations skills to select, coach, develop, mentor, performance Leads and reward employees
