Job Description:

The Staff Accountant will be an important contributor to the Accounting team supporting all main functions of the accounting department. The main emphasis for this position will be accurate reporting of monthly financial statements and account reconciliations and ad hoc reporting. This is a type of role where you should genuinely enjoy analyzing financial statements, crunching numbers, and working to ensure that our accounting function runs as smoothly as possible. You will report to the Senior Manager, New Business.

You will...

• Month-End Closing: Oversee assigned month-end close processes, prepare account reconciliations, record journal entries and maintain accurate supporting documentation of assigned business verticals.
• Reporting: Analyze period over period fluctuations and provide insightful commentary of goals; respond to inquiries through analysis.
• Audits: Ensure audit preparedness. Support external audit requirements related to specific responsibilities.
• Business Partnership: You will work with other Finance functions to further insight into financial metrics, and work with other functions to improve processes.
• Team: Provide support to Accounts Payable team on invoice coding guidance and work with them on daily bank reconciliations
• Projects: Design proposals to improve accounting processes to shorten time to close, improve controls and ensure scalability as the business grows.

At a minimum, you have...

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA
• 1+ years professional accounting experience with a public accounting firm, or mid to large size company (> $100 million revenue);
• Experience with food/manufacturing/ ecommerce industries is helpful but not a deal breaker.
• Experience with month end closing processes and US GAAP expertise;
• IFRS knowledge.
• Strong Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
• Familiarity with Oracle ERP
