Market Job Description

The Strategy Group Associate is a Business Initiatives Consultant level 2 role and will be a core team member of the Strategy group. This Associate will support the execution of the Strategy Group’s scope-of-work with an emphasis on data gathering and synthesis, running various analysis to derive key insights, and generating impactful presentations to inform strategy and decision making by senior management. The Associate will be expected to drive work streams related to strategy development and executing projects by working with front-office, middle-office and back-office teams. This role will suit a talented individual who is a confident, self-starter, and who is focused on delivering results.
Strategy group description
The Strategy group works within the Office of the Regional president and CEO of CIB EMEA for Wells Fargo and reports to the Chief of Staff. It is the group primarily responsible for supporting senior management in strategy development and execution, including supporting the building of organizational and knowledge capabilities that can serve to strengthen the EMEA platform. The strategy group also plays a critical role in prioritizing and aligning implementation efforts across the organization. The Wells Fargo EMEA platform is currently undergoing a transformation associated with a global ambition for Corporate and Investment banking.

Responsibilities

• Support regional and legal entity strategy development, syndication and execution.
• Work in coordination with the Chief of Staff’s office and regional COO team on key strategy execution, regulatory change and operating model transformation projects.
• Own and drive data gathering and analysis of a broad spectrum of topics relating to clients, products, financials & capital resources, operating processes and industry themes related to the transformation and growth of Well Fargo in EMEA.
• Understand and incorporate ESG/Sustainable banking best-practices and requirements into strategy and operating model development.
• Assist EMEA business thinking around the efficient allocation of our human and capital resources in an impactful and sustainable way.
• Support global connectivity between US, International and European offices.
• Preparation of high-quality and impactful materials for senior stakeholders

Market Skills and Certifications

Skills and experience required
• Management consulting experience with demonstrable experience working with corporate and investment banks, or in a corporate and investment banking client or product team.
• Strong data lineage and data analysis knowledge with an ability to deal with uncertainty and incomplete data in order to formulate a conclusion
• Strong programme delivery skills and experience supporting transformational programme.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and diplomatic skills including a self-confidence to engage with multiple levels of seniority across internal stakeholders and with client organizations
• Results focused with an ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
• Good understanding of the organisation, operating model and purpose of a bank.
• Functional knowledge of Responsible banking and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements will be a plus
• Experience in sales and new client/business development considered a plus
• Strong academic background with a degree from Top UK/European/US university preferred
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
• Fluent in English, and at least one European language
