Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. Reporting to a CIB Project Management Manager in the COO organization, the Business Change Analyst will serve as a trusted subject matter expert into Change Management as well as business COOs, business leads, sponsors and program managers on initiative sizing, scoping, and ensuring objectives and delivery of the regulatory change book and cross-regional change activities adhere to overall regional strategy.

The Business Change Analyst will lead on business case development that may impact multiple lines of businesses, legal entities and group functions e.g. Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations.

The Business Change Analyst will also be responsible for effectively executing the regulatory change book and cross-regional change activities to support prioritization decisions and the effective delivery and embedding of change.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver day to day support for strategic planning and change management efforts for the regulatory change book and cross-regional change activities.
  • Manages strategic and tactical execution of components of the change book of work impacting the International in line with existing governance structures in Region and across International as well as Enterprise Change Management policies and procedures. Change may be change the bank or run the bank in nature and executed via large programs of work, projects or in business as usual.
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert into Change Management as well as business COOs, business leads, sponsors and program managers on initiative sizing, scoping, and ensuring objectives and delivery of the regulatory change book and cross-regional change activities adhere to overall regional strategy.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in the CIB and International COO teams in relation to Enterprise and Internationally driven change portfolio that impacts the region.
  • Ensure changes to the business driven through BAU and project/programs are sustainable and effectively embedded into business as usual.
  • Preliminary analysis to determine the most appropriate solution to achieve strategic goals, through detailed analysis of the business need, feasibility studies, benchmark/trade-off analysis, and development of high-level business requirements.
  • Working with end users, testers, to help develop use cases and analyze defects to support fixes and enhancements.
  • Creation and execution of test scripts to ensure configuration, system and process changes are in line with documented requirements.
  • Providing training and coaching of technical and operations users, managing cultural changes required to achieve benefits of the new solution.
  • Assist in monitoring and guiding all new or proposed change initiatives to align to the Regional & International strategy and support business leads to make informed and strategic prioritization decisions and manage internal and external dependencies.
  • Analyzing complex regulations that may span multiple businesses, jurisdictions and summarize for others who may have a less technical background.
  • Contributing to preparation of project cost, timeline and skill based estimates.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to achieve sign-offs and approvals when required.
  • Ensure Group Portfolio Delivery (GPD), technology, and policy stakeholders are in agreement on approaches and actively supporting delivery through a formalized intake process that includes a thorough impact assessment stage to include Regional and International COO Stakeholders from technology, finance, controls, etc.
  • Support analysis and decision making with a specific focus on both business and region specific impacts associated with new initiatives, projects, and changes to policies, procedures and processes
  • Support Change Management in partnership with Compliance on regulatory horizon scanning, to drive initial and in depth impact assessments of new regulatory requirements to determine application to Wells Fargo entities and appropriate delivery response
  • Assist the business and COO teams with the development of business cases and benefits management, providing advice, subject matter expertise and constructive challenge where required.
  • Support COO project and program teams to engage the business and other key stakeholders effectively to deliver change and develop supporting communication plans where required.
  • Create an environment where team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them, provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support ongoing development of the Change Management team.
  • Attend and present at regional operating committees, project/program steering committees, as well as leading workshops.

This position will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: management consulting, strategy consulting or financial services demonstrated through work or military experience
  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, strategic assessment or international experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in managing change in a comparable financial institution (preferably for a business unit or COO function).
  • Innovative mindset, with a track record of change management, and knowledge of approaches and methodologies to support effective transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and road maps at an executive level.
  • Strong knowledge of data and technology requirements.
  • Experience in portfolio or complex program management both Agile and Waterfall as well in a bi-modal approach, and to be able to effectively oversee the end to end execution of the book of work.
  • Experience in Business Process Modeling, and Use Case Modeling and analysis of non-functional requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a team structure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders of all levels of seniority, from different backgrounds and based in other (global) locations.
  • Strong analytical skills; the role requires interpretation and synthesis of regulatory, business and technical information to ensure that the solutions implemented meet the needs of both Wells Fargo and its clients.
  • Ability to supplement requirements with visuals such as data flow, swim-lane, process flow and timeline diagrams.
  • Clear understanding of internal and external expectations/policies in respect of controls and governance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present concisely and accurately to senior audiences.
  • Intuitive; fast learner with good problem solving skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and experience of SharePoint & Confluence would be beneficial.
