The Job
The Content Operations Specialist will validate the content experience in EMEA to be localised and adapted to HBO MAX with required metadata in European, Middle Eastern and African markets. You will serve as HBO MAX EMEA primary go-to resource for identifying and troubleshooting content delivery issues related to Rights and Metadata, while providing immediate resolution and developing long-term sustainable solutions for upstream. This position allows local fans to discover content gems through editorialised metadata.
The Daily
  • Gather insights from current content workflows for Rights and Metadata, review to ascertain bottlenecks, expose strategic opportunities that yield efficiency gains and define optimisation points.
  • Review and QC localised Metadata: tags, fields, synopses, genres, classification, ratings collected/written by other content taggers as part of the quality assurance process that enables editorial and publishing.
  • Coordinate last minute changes and fixes in CMS while tracking root causes through the organisation (WB, Turner, HBO, 3rd Party).
  • Liaise between HBO MAX EMEA content & product team, Engineering, Metadata teams and marketing on all aspects related to metadata localisation.
  • Review the Content Hub tagging process to ensure that appropriate content appears in highly visible hubs and in viewer-generated searches in all languages with internal teams.
  • Review and validate keywords localisation process to feed personalisation and recommendation though local vendors and Metadata localisation teams.
  • Work cross-functionally across internal teams like Content Operations, Localisation and Scheduling & Planning to ensure metadata flows throughout its lifecycle. You will execute certain regional requirements, including interactions with external agencies.
  • Utilise content metadata to brainstorm programming collection ideas across all pages and several Brand Hubs, for discussion with Editorial.
  • Manage the software development backlog to ensure that the highest priorities are at the top of the backlog, and each story is well defined and accepted by the team for development.
  • Interface with engineering and support teams post-launch to ensure Rights and Metadata operational workflows are working as designed and bring any feedback to the development and operational teams for enhancements.
The Essentials
  • Strong knowledge of Metadata management process and the ability to specify efficient workflows and identify additional tools
  • Previous experience in localisation and content classification.
  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis involving querying SQL databases or equivalent data sources and manipulating data in spreadsheets.
  • Expertise in eliciting and documenting business requirements through use cases, user stories, and other means (including workflow diagrams, dataflow diagrams, screen wireframes, etc.).
  • Experience with Metadata management and systems.
  • Fluent in English.

The Nice to Haves
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management information systems, or an analytical field.
  • An additional European language.
