Digital Acquisition is one of American Express’ key priorities. Core to delivering on this priority are lending, banking and payment application experiences which help existing customers apply for our products with the least amount of effort, wherever and however they choose to apply.

The Enterprise Digital Application Experiences team is a core part of acquisition, having responsibility for growing new accounts acquired, billed business acquired, and accounts receivable by accelerating the completed applications experiences for our global customer base.

We are looking for talented product owners to join the Global Commercial Non-Card Application Experience team and help craft and deliver an exciting vision to drive customer acquisition for busines lending and payment products. As a Product Manager for the Global Commercial Non-Card Application Experience team, you will:

  • Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap and growth opportunities
  • Manage the product life cycle for International Commercial Non-Card Applications from product discovery, development, to launch
  • Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams that include Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and Business Development to create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog
  • Make trade-off decisions with MVP thinking by keeping exceptional user experience and business value at the center.
  • Define, collect and report on metrics against target outcomes that articulate the impact of decisions, adapting the backlog priorities to ensure delivery against product goals
  • Validate hypotheses with frequent testing, collecting user feedback and running tests
  • Craft high quality features and user stories with robust acceptance criteria
  • Lead feature and story refinement, planning and product release plans, creating clear sprint/increment goals and managing delivery of features through the development lifecycle
  • Lead a product analyst, responsible for their day to day deliverables, performance management and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

  • 3+ years as a product owner or manager with experience launching and maintaining consumer-facing products and features with a digital product development team
  • Technical fluency - an ability to clearly describe tradeoffs with users and engineers about certain decisions
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles: backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story and feature writing, MVP, sprint demos
  • Ability to analyze user experience metrics to determine priorities, opportunities, and issues with products
  • Highly organized with documentation - you are great at documenting product specifications and maintaining timelines
  • Adaptable with a fast pace and changing needs
  • The ability to set a high bar for your team and empower them to achieve great results
  • A “driver” personality - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery while balancing the need for great collaboration.
  • Passionate about delivering best-in-class user experiences and being an active contributor to the product culture at American Express
  • Experience with managing a direct report, responsible for their deliverables and performance is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and presentation skills
