The Amex Digital Labs department is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers’ digital lives. We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation.

This role requires strategic and creative thought leadership, broad business knowledge, a deep understanding of our customer and their needs. This individual must be comfortable in a fast changing, dynamic, innovative and iterative environment. The successful candidate will be helping to drive the strategic expansion of our Partner messaging and Voice Assistant channels, introducing these channels to new customer touch points, new businesses and new markets.

This role will partner closely with our technology teams, taking innovative proven ideas from validated hypotheses to executed opportunities. This individual will collaborate with the Business Development team, ensuring that everything aligns to the current and future strategic & contractual requirements. This individual will work closely with other capabilities & product teams across the enterprise to integrate the partner channels to drive seamless solutions that enable our product roadmap.

This Product Owner will be responsible for defining features, user stories, articulating use cases, defining and bringing to life the vision of having differentiated, best in class customer experiences through partner channels. This individual will work closely with other Product Owners, Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Engineers, UX/UI Designers, and Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in developing product requirements & roadmaps, driving product development and management.
  • Understanding of Agile principles and experience effectively managing a backlog using Jira or any other development management software.
  • Understanding of technology and product development processes, known as a person who can speak both tech and business languages.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to resolve complex problems independently
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Analytical skills to interpret information and draw insights, recommendations, and develop CBA’s
  • Ability to drive results in a matrixed organization, across groups and markets without direct authority
  • Experience in elevating the overall User Experience of customer journeys. With a demonstrated ability to think outside the box and design industry leading solutions.
  • Experience leading people preferred
  • Bachelors’ degree in related field required
  • MBA/ Master’s degree in related field preferred
