Market Job Description
About the Role:
This is a 12-month contract role in the APAC CIB Markets Operations department based in Hong Kong supporting the Wells Fargo Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) business in Asia. The business offers a suite of Fixed Income products of Credit, Rates, Foreign Exchange (FX), and Cross Asset solutions to corporate, government and institutional clients.
The Capital Markets Middle Office Analyst position supports Collateral Management (CM). The Collateral Management department supports the collateralization of the derivative, repurchase agreement (repo), forward, and foreign exchange (FX) businesses of Wells Fargo. This group is located in Charlotte, Minneapolis, Bangalore, Hong Kong and supports clients across all businesses product lines, and multiple legal entities. WFCM actions margin calls daily and responsible for the settlement and front to back management of the collateral for those clients.
Products including, but not limited to Interest Rates Swaps, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Repos, Futures, US Treasuries, Cash Bonds, Credit Default Swaps, spot FX, NDFs, FX Options and other OTC derivatives products.
Responsibilities:
- Compare trade position files from external counter-parties to resolve timely margin call disputes
- Be the main point of communication between Wells Fargo and its client base
- Perform trade decompositions to validate current mark-to-market exposures
- Review and present collateral margin calls and respond to demands submitted by our counterparties
- Work with internal departments (various Middle Offices, Documentation, Marketers, Legal, Risk) to resolve all discrepancies
- Produce and distribute ad-hoc reporting requirements to clients
- Consistently seek opportunities to improve processes, controls and procedures within the Collateral Management team
- Partner with the project team to develop requirements for system enhancements and assist with user acceptance testing.
- Liaise with partners globally such as IT, COO, Risk Teams and Project Management on ad-hoc basis
- Compile and submit MIS reports to senior stakeholders
Market Skills and Certifications
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of capital markets industry experience
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Quantitative or relevant subjects with minimum 1 year of relevant operations experience is an advantage
- Highly motivated team player with effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Flexible working hours and able to work on holidays and/or extreme weather situations
- Detail orientated with strong sense of control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Firm understanding of Fixed Income, FX, Repo and other OTC derivatives products
- Strong knowledge with Macro and VBA is an advantage
