Senior Product Manager, Platform

Job Description

WePay is looking for a Senior Tax Product Manager to help reimagine the future of tax reporting for our customers. Tax is the newest product for WePay’s Platform Product team, and as a Product Manager you will be responsible for defining what the tax experiences should look like for customers, and then work across disciplines to build our product. This person will build user-facing tax products from scratch such as: yearly user tax reporting requirements, user onboarding tax information & form collection, updates, maintenance and sales taxes. To accomplish these goals, you’ll work directly with your product development team as well as cross-functionally with colleagues in Business, Legal, Compliance and other Product areas. What Will You Do

• Collaborate with all the functions of the Tax team - legal, accounting and engineering - to develop and manage strategy and execution for user-facing changes related to Wepay user’s tax obligation
• Work closely with Chase/Wepay tax subject matter experts to identify tax needs from product or geographical expansion
• Develop and Execute product roadmap for collection of indirect taxes, the collection and validation of tax information, and tax information reporting to tax authorities
• Be responsible for reviewing and providing guidance on internal processes or external user communication to ensure clear and helpful documentation related to any tax issue/process is made available for both internal and external use

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of tax product experience at a financial or eCommerce services industry
• A very strong understanding of the U.S. rules around information reporting and withholding (1099), a strong understanding tax issues and indirect taxation - Sales tax (US), value added tax (Canada)
• The ability to prioritize projects in a fast-changing environment
• A desire to tackle complex problems!
• Experience working with SQL, Tableau, Chartio etc. to query and analyze data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working directly with diverse, distributed teams and their cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience with Vertex or similar tax product is a plus
• Degree in a quantitative field -Statistics, Math, Engineering or equivalent is preferred
